💜 Diabetes Peer Support Group TODAY in Billingham! 💜
Living with diabetes can be challenging, but you don't have to face it alone.

Join us today at our friendly Diabetes Peer Support Group at the John Whitehead Community Hub Café, Billingham. It's a great opportunity to meet others, share experiences, gain support, and pick up practical tips from people who understand life with diabetes.

⭐ Special Guest Speaker: An NHS Dietitian from North Tees Hospital will be joining us to share advice on healthy eating and managing diabetes.

Our groups are led by a dedicated volunteers with more than 50 years of lived experience of diabetes, helping to create a welcoming and supportive environment for everyone.

..you'll receive a warm welcome.

Can't make it today? Don't worry! We have one final peer support group taking place in November before we pause for the festive season. We'll then return in January 2027 and look forward to welcoming both familiar and new faces.

❄️ Stay Well This Winter ❄️

Winter bugs spread more easily at this time of year, but there are simple steps you can take to help protect yourself and others.

✅ Catch coughs and sneezes in a tissue, then bin it.
✅ Wash your hands regularly with soap and warm water.
✅ If you have diarrhoea or vomiting, stay home until 48 hours after symptoms have stopped.
✅ Rest, drink plenty of fluids, and eat if you can when you're unwell.
✅ Remember: colds, flu and COVID-19 are caused by viruses, so antibiotics won't work unless prescribed for a bacterial infection.

Looking after yourself helps protect your family, friends and community too. 💙

🍽️ New Workshop for Parents & Carers
Are mealtimes becoming a challenge? You're not alone, the 0-19 Growing Healthy Service Stockton on Tees team are there to help!

They are launching a new workshop for parents and carers of children aged 5+ who may be selective about the foods they eat.

The session will explore:
✅ Understanding eating behaviours
✅ Supporting children to try and explore new foods
✅ Reducing stress and pressure around mealtimes
✅ Practical tips and ideas to use at home

No referral is needed, and the workshop is free for families living in Stockton.

❤️🌺 WOW! What an amazing day yesterday! 🌺❤️

What started as an idea from Claire at Wellington Square, with a simple “Yes, we’ll support this!” and a plan to create a display using a few poppy balls, turned into something truly incredible!

Together, we helped bring to life a beautiful poppy display featuring over 1,700 handcrafted poppies, lovingly made by the wonderful Stockton community, alongside P*P staff and our amazing knitters. ❤️

Seeing an idea grow into something so special is a powerful reminder of what can be achieved when a community comes together with kindness, creativity and a shared purpose.

We were incredibly proud to support the Royal British Legion – Stockton & Yarm Branch with this project, helping create a display that will support their fundraising efforts for this fantastic charity and the important work they do.

From all of us at P*P and Wellington Square, a HUGE thank you to everyone who contributed, knitted, crafted, supported and helped make this happen. Every single poppy represents time, care and community spirit, and we couldn't be prouder of what we've achieved together. 🌺

This is what community is all about — people coming together, supporting one another and making a real difference.

Over 1,700 poppies. One amazing community. One very special cause. ❤️
