"I’ve been pacing for around a decade now. I run for thinking time mainly, the physical health benefits are secondary! I am an avid parkrun tourist having visited around 230 different venues in Europe and the USA. I love that the running community is so welcoming wherever you pitch up."

I’m only one of the organisers for the event, I won’t be running the 5k or 10k on the day………. I’ll probably be doing double if not treble over the race weekend so I need to be in decent shape. 🥵

Running has been in my blood since representing my primary school in sports day, then cross country and athletics in meets across Merseyside.

Races became the norm for me on a weekend moving into secondary school at St. Anselm's College representing Wirral & Merseyside on numerous occasions in cross country and on the track, winning the English Schools Championships and representing England Schools in 1998.

Moving into adulthood, I’ve run 7 marathons and tonnes of 10ks amongst other fitness challenges. This is not just a job to me, it a passion, a hobbie I have been dedicated to for the past 20 years and I’m looking forward to running races, organising races and watches races over the next 20 years.

Meet Lee, aka The Bale Man.

Lee will be taking on the Wace Morgan Solicitors Shrewsbury 10K on the 5th of July while carrying a hay bale!

Lee is taking part in at least 30 challenges over the next year in memory of his friend William Rogers who would’ve been 30 this year.

This is to raise money for the Shropshire rural support charity in memory of my dear friend who was taken from us in April 2022.

Meet the pacer!

David Card

I've had the privilege of pacing the Shrewsbury 10k a few times now and its one of my favourites. You get to start in the beautiful surroundings of the Quarry where there is always a fantastic atmosphere. Love this course its perfect if you like a few undulations and you take in some great scenery on the way back towards the Quarry finish line. I'll pace a nice even pace and be there to give you loads of encouragement and a few laughs along the way to hopefully smashing some pbs 💪

The Public Participation Team rally together for a team challenge!

Our dedicated Public Participation Team is gearing up to take on the Wace Morgan Shrewsbury 5k & 10k on 5th July 2026, a personal challenge that means so much more than just crossing the finish line. We are fundraising for Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital Charity, supporting their vital Children's Services Campaign.

This campaign is focused on creating an outdoor space and a sensory room for the new children's ward at Royal Shrewsbury Hospital, spaces that will provide comfort, joy, and healing to young patients during their hospital stay.

We believe every child deserves an environment that supports their well-being and recovery. Our team members are ready to give their all in this run, but we need your help to reach our target of £150. Your generous support will directly contribute to making these essential spaces a reality for children who need them most.
