Nestled on the riverside next to Shrewsbury's English Bridge, surrounded by trees and patches of flowers, is a bright red bench - a bench with a powerful story.

If you take a closer look at its gold plaque, it becomes clear that it is dedicated in living memory of someone, rather than someone who has died.

That person is Faith Harrison, 24, from Little Minsterley, who survived a seven-hour heart attack at the age of 22 in January 2024.

"When people sit on the bench… I want them to live their life, go and do whatever they want to do, not be afraid, and get uncomfortable to get comfortable," she said.

We were delighted to welcome members of Shrewsbury Men’s Shed to the construction site of our new healthcare facilities this week! 🏗️

The visit, supported by IHP, was a fantastic opportunity to share our progress, showcase the future of healthcare in our community, and connect with a group that plays such an important role in supporting wellbeing and reducing social isolation.

From exploring the build up close to asking insightful questions and sharing stories, the group brought great energy and enthusiasm to the day. Thank you for visiting - we look forward to welcoming you back as the site continues to take shape!

We were delighted to join the initial planning session to develop Shrewsbury’s bid to become the first ever UK Town of Culture in 2028.

Seb and EJ joined Shrewsbury Town Council for a group brainstorm involving around twenty cultural, heritage, and business leaders for a group planning session to identify themes and opportunities for our bid's cultural strategy.

The ambition in the room was clear. The ideas were confident, creative and plentiful - encompassing strengths such as our heritage and grassroots culture, our thriving independent venues and festivals. We see a Town of Culture bid as a genuine opportunity to position the town on a national stage.

Our team is ready to get to work with our partners in the town - including with those who couldn’t attend the session - to help shape and strengthen the strongest possible programme ahead of the March deadline.

Stay tuned for future developments!
