GRANT UPDATE 🎶 We are proud to support Giggle Doctor visits at Sheffield Children’s Hospital, bringing music, laughter and moments of joy to children and families during challenging hospital stays.

From January to August 2026, the Giggle Doctors visited 863 children, benefiting 2,416 people, including parents, siblings and NHS staff. Through singing, humour, bubbles and imaginative play, they help reduce anxiety, lift spirits and give children a sense of choice and control during treatment.

Parents have shared how these visits brighten their children’s days, provide a welcome distraction after surgery and help families feel cared for and supported.

Our support funded a visit by Dr Flowerpot and Dr Nic Nac, contributing to a programme that has served Sheffield Children’s Hospital for 21 years. We are delighted to support this valuable work, bringing comfort, connection and happiness to children and families through music and play 💛 🫶 🎶

At The Sarah Nulty Power of Music Foundation, we know how deeply a song can capture the feeling of a moment — the warmth of a shared smile, the rhythm of change, the beauty of slowing down. From mellow melodies to soulful singalongs, the right song can make even the chilliest day feel warm 🍂🎧

GRANT NEWS 🎵 We’re proud to support the Irish Tin Whistle Project, led by Friends & Volunteers of Sheffield Music Hub, bringing Irish traditional music and culture into Sheffield primary schools.

Throughout 2027, around 200 Key Stage 2 pupils across seven schools will learn to play the tin whistle, sing traditional songs and explore Irish rhythms and musical heritage — including the culture and contributions of Sheffield’s Irish and Irish Traveller communities.

Led by experienced musician and educator Dr Michael Walsh in partnership with Sheffield Music Hub, the project will build children’s musical skills, confidence and cultural understanding. Teachers will also receive training and resources, while donated instruments and materials will remain in schools so the music can continue beyond the pilot.

Our grant will help make the programme completely free for participating schools and families, ensuring every child can take part regardless of their financial circumstances or musical experience.

We can’t wait to hear the first notes and see pupils connecting with this rich, living musical tradition! 🎶💛

GRANT NEWS 🎵 We’re delighted to support Meersbrook Community Choir, helping to keep community singing accessible, inclusive and enjoyable for people of all ages and backgrounds in Sheffield.

Meeting weekly at Meersbrook United Reformed Church, the choir welcomes everyone from young children to older adults — including its oldest member, aged 90! Songs are taught by ear, so no previous experience or ability to read music is needed.

Our grant will help cover the cost of professional musicians, rehearsal space, music and performances, enabling the choir to continue removing financial barriers to participation.

As well as developing musical skills and confidence, members can form friendships, reduce isolation and enjoy the wellbeing benefits of singing together.
