Our initiative #wegotyourback

WHAT?

A social media campaign #wegotyourback which aims to bring together volunteers who are keen to help make/donate equipment and key workers who need it. Our facebook group and twitter @wegotyourbackuk will allow for us to bring these communities together.

Initially we will be using google forms to allow volunteers/donors to indicate what they have to offer and key workers to request what they need. This includes but is not limited to PPE(masks, goggles, visors, gowns), hand sanitiser, food, materials to make PPE.

WHY?

We need to support our NHS and frontline key workers more than ever. It has been inspirational to see how communities have volunteered their time, resources and passion to help. SO, it is vital that their precious efforts reach those who need it most.

WHERE?

This is being piloted in Sheffield with a view to be used nationwide. Wherever you are in the country, feel free to give us a message if you think you can help.

HOW CAN YOU HELP?

Hashtag: #wegotyourback offers one simple hashtag for volunteers to quickly signpost their offers and for key workers to easily locate these.

Community: Like and share our page, follow and share our twitter handle @wegotyourbackuk and promote the hashtag #wegotyourback. Finally, volunteer to help us in our effort

Support: #wegotyourback team actively matches and coordinates volunteer efforts with key workers.

OUR POLITICAL VIEW:

Whilst the government works with big companies and arrange sustainable supply chains, we believe communities can rapidly come together and fill gaps where required. We support the endeavour of the government. We are and will remain, politically neutral.
