We have had an incredible day at RAF Odiham. Control tower, armoury, fire station, hanger tours and plenty of time up close to the mighty Chinook. We even had a demonstration of the Chinook Display team and whilst our flight on-board didn't go ahead due to technical reasons its just been another fantastic day to be an RAF air Cadet

We had an incredible evening tonight as we welcomed our special guest Allan Akers, ex RAF radar operator and creator of the game . Taking on the role of an Identification officer, searching for threats, deploying assets and scrambling QRA interceptors against hostile aircraft, our cadets got a taste of life behind the scope.

Last night our Cadets put their skills to the test as they braved the cold and went out on exercise. With a map, and a Radio, 3 teams were issued location objectives in grid coordinate form, from our radio control room.

If your child is aged 12 (year 8) to 17 and interested in joining a youth organisation that offers opportunities to build skills, knowledge, discipline, friendships, and memories please do contact us to arrange a visit on one of our parade nights.

This weekend, some of our Air Cadets attended a Weapons Handling course on the Scorpion air rifle, followed by time on the range. This is just one of the many activities available to our cadets most weekends, both locally and nationally.

We also enjoyed hosting potential new cadets at our Monday Open Evening – thank you to everyone who attended. If you were unable to make it, missed the evening, or are interested in joining, please drop us an email at:

We’re a UK-wide cadet force with members aged between 12 and 20 years old.

We are affiliated to the Royal Air Force and can give you hands-on experience of activities and courses that will challenge and develop your skills to help you succeed in whatever you want to do.

Parents and potential cadets are welcome on the night to discuss the organisation with the staff and get an insight into what we do.

New recruits can start from 12 but must be in year 8.

You can turn up on the night but would prefer prior notice for numbers.
