Berkshire Freemasons support Chemogiftbags

Pillars of Friendship Lodge, who meet at Sindlesham, recently awarded a £1,000 grant to Chemogiftbags.

Lodge Leader Nick Sturgess was delighted to meet founder Lynne Shipton and hear about the support Chemogiftbags provides to people going through cancer treatment across the Thames Valley.
Lynne founded the charity in 2015 following her own treatment experience. In this short video, Lynne shows us what goes into each Chemogiftbag.
“She said, Thanks to the Berkshire Freemasons, this grant will ensure that more people will have the benefit of one of our Chemogiftbags. Thank you.”

Wonderful video from Camp Mohawk making poppies for the Windsor Coop Remembrance Day Project. The Berkshire Masonic Charity supported this with a grant of £1000 in April this year.

Berkshire Freemasons were honoured to attend the High Sheriff's Summer Reception at Windsor Castle, celebrating the exceptional achievements of Berkshire's cadets, dedicated adult volunteers, and the many organisations that support them.

It was an inspiring evening, recognising the values of service, leadership, teamwork, and community—principles that closely align with those of Freemasonry.

Our sincere congratulations to everyone involved in making the event such a memorable success, and our thanks to the High Sheriff of Berkshire for bringing together so many people committed to supporting young people across the county.

We encourage everyone to like, comment on, and share the original High Sheriff's post to help celebrate these remarkable young people and the volunteers whose dedication helps them thrive.

Late evening update - The Lincolnshire Freemasons have also placed a nice piece onto their website that you might like to access: https://www.lincolnshirefreemasons.org/rough-ashlars-have-plenty-of-bite-in-berkshire/?fbclid=IwVERDUATTcFNwZG9mBWZkaWQWULTpatA1kjBZXJCAc_BigDA43Mz7U2V4dG4DYWVtAjExAHNydGMGYXBwX2lkCjY2Mjg1NjgzNzkAAR5kZscfSCXVLIu6bJDGQB_N6GJrUMSXpNj-o4DgvYSGDbU7hy73Fd11m4rNkQ_aem_gwJGivRa5eiKel1QB6Zoyg

16:50. With the racing over and prizes given out, everyone here is packing up in Newbury. The Lincolnshire Rough Ashlars had been bucket-shaking today at the event and collecting for a wonderful Berkshire Charity and resource, Swings & Smiles. The total raised was £72.45 and will be given across on the Ashlars behalf in the coming days.

If you’d like to know more about Freemasonry and why seemingly normal men do this sort of stuff - reach out. We don’t bite. “Don’t wait to asked” That wraps up the coverage from Newbury today. And we hope you’ve enjoyed it.

15:44. Now we wait. Will their time be good enough to take a place in the top 3? Thrilling stuff at Newbury.

15:40 from the bottom of the hill we can hear the Flintstone’s music playing. Our team are just about to start their final run…

15:28 Lincolnshire’s Rough Ashlar Team are through to the final 5! Meaning they have to straight away, race against the other 4 fastest teams and quickest wins. So already they’re headed back up the bill. A nail-biting afternoon here in Newbury 😎

15:10. Our fearless-5 have ascended the hill for their final run. At this point the honour of Lincolnshire Freemasons sits in 4th position on the leader board as the final runs take place…. Berkshire Freemasons salute you!

14:50 Something to watch out for in the final decent of the hill by our Rough Ashlar Team. That rear wheel has had some TLC with a drill AND a hammer, the smell of WD40 mixed with burgers being grilled. It’s like Monte Carlo here today!

14:35 a storming second run. Our Ashlars are now 2nd on the leader board with more still to run. Fingers crossed for the guys 🤞🏼

14:30. The Lincolnshire Rough Ashlars are about to commence their 2nd run… 😳

13:00 By popular request (and the guys don’t yet know I’ve posted it - Why not take a look at the clip of the Rough Ashlars dance performance at the start line. Warning **contains Disturbing ‘Dino-Dancing’ that can never be unseen**

12:15 The Rough Ashlars have set off from the top of the Newbury High Street aiming for the bottom. It’s tense, inflatable dinosaurs and clubs are all inflated to the max. After a storming ‘performance’ just before starting they push driver Marcus ‘Canonball’ Canon over the start line… a storming decent and plenty of purple smoke - THEY ONLY SET THE FASTEST TIME of the day yet! See the video and the leader board photos. Marcus, the driver, said afterwards, “It was amazing!”

11:35 The Rough Ashlar Team are headed to the start line to begin their first race. They will be the last to start before lunch in all likelihood. “GO ROUGH ASHLARS”
