Yesterday, we headed to Carlisle Racecourse for another fantastic day as the racecourse’s Charity of the Year. 🏇
Stephanie, Lucie and Gill were there throughout the day, chatting to racegoers about the work of the Army Benevolent Fund, raising awareness and generating vital funds through the activities on the stand.
And there was a new addition to the North West ABF fundraising repertoire… 🦆🎯
If you’ve visited one of the Army Benevolent Fund’s stands before, you’ll probably have spotted our very popular camouflage rubber ducks. They’ve become a firm favourite with supporters, so the team thought: why just sell the ducks when you can turn them into a game too?!
Enter Hook-a-Duck! 🦆
The game proved a huge hit with families attending the racecourse, keeping children entertained throughout the day — and there were plenty of return customers coming back for another go in the hope of winning a prize!
Every duck hooked helped raise funds for the Army Benevolent Fund, making it a fun (if not a bit quackers!) way to support the charity while enjoying the family day out.
It was brilliant to see so many people engaging with the stand and learning more about how the ABF supports soldiers, veterans and their families. The team is proud to be working alongside Carlisle Racecourse throughout this year’s race season and is looking forward to plenty more opportunities to meet racegoers and raise funds together.
A big thank you to everyone who stopped by, had a go at Hook-a-Duck, entered the raffle or simply took the time to chat with the team. 💚
And, of course… the camouflage ducks will be back! 🦆
