FULWOOD CHRISTMAS LIGHTS SWITCH ON ✨🎄

Christmas is coming to Fulwood! Join us on Sunday 29th November at 6pm at Heaton Mount Ave, PR2 9HR for an evening of festive fun, lights and community spirit. ❤️

✨ And, of course, the spectacular Christmas lights!

The lights will then be on every day from approximately 4pm–10pm.

We’re looking for a new Chair of Trustees

Cancer Help (Preston) Limited is seeking a Chair of the Board of Trustees to help guide the charity through its next chapter.

This is an opportunity to provide strategic leadership, strong governance and visible community advocacy, working alongside our Board of Trustees and General Manager to help ensure the long-term sustainability of our services.

We’re looking for someone with proven leadership experience who can bring people together, think strategically and champion our mission of supporting local people and families affected by cancer.

Previous charity or healthcare experience is welcomed, but not essential. What matters most is commitment, integrity and the ability to lead with confidence.

📍 Location: Preston, Lancashire
⏱️ Commitment: Approximately 5 days per month
💛 Role: Voluntary, with legitimate expenses reimbursed
📅 Closing date: 30 November 2026

We’re expanding our support services at Cancer Help Preston.

We’re pleased to now offer EMDR therapy (Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing) as part of our support services.

EMDR is an evidence-based therapeutic approach that can help people process distressing or traumatic experiences and reduce the emotional impact they may have. It can be a helpful complement to counselling and talking therapy, with support tailored to each individual’s needs.

Everyone’s experience of cancer is different, and we’re here to support you through it.

We’re delighted to share some exciting news!

Following the launch of our recent post promoting the new Look Good Feel Better Men’s Skincare & Wellbeing sessions, we’re pleased to share that the sessions have caught the attention of Radio Lancashire! 📻

Jeanette will be joining the lunchtime programme on Monday to talk about the new sessions and the support available to men affected by cancer.

The new Men’s Skincare & Wellbeing service provides a welcoming space for men to explore some of the practical and emotional changes that can come with cancer treatment, including skincare, suncare, safer shaving, nutrition and staying active.

We’re so pleased to be helping raise awareness of this fantastic support and look forward to sharing more with you following Monday’s interview. 💙

Look Good, Feel Better — Sessions for Men

Would you be interested in a relaxed, practical workshop designed for men who have had a cancer diagnosis or are currently going through treatment?

The 2-hour session will cover:
• Skincare during and after treatment
• Safe shaving & grooming
• Sun protection
• Caring for scars
• Sharing experiences and useful tips with others on a similar journey

Everyone attending will also receive a bag of full-size skincare and grooming products to try during the session and take home.
