🌟 Fundraising Spotlight: Amazing Jen Jump! 🌟

A huge congratulations to the incredible Jen Jump, who completed The Maverick Trail on Saturday 30th May in support of Heartbeat! 🥾🏅

Jen tackled an incredible 60-mile (100km) trail, crossing the finish line in an impressive 14 hours and 22 minutes. Not only that, she placed 26th out of 54 participants and was the 4th female finisher, an outstanding achievement! 👏💪

Jen is the daughter of Mavis Lonsdale, wife of our Heartbeat class member Peter Lonsdale, making this achievement especially meaningful to our Heartbeat family. ❤️

Adding to the celebration, Peter and Mavis have kindly donated £60 to Heartbeat, £1 for every mile that Jen ran. What a wonderful way to recognise Jen's achievement while supporting our cause. 💙

We love hearing about the ways our class members, their families and friends get involved and support Heartbeat. Whether it's fundraising, volunteering, donating or cheering from the sidelines, every contribution helps make a difference.

A huge thank you to Jen, Peter and Mavis for your support, generosity and commitment to Heartbeat. We're incredibly grateful to have such amazing people in our community. 🎉💙

🎵☀️ HEARTBEAT SUMMER PARTY WITH GINO ECCLES ☀️🎵

Join us for an afternoon of music, food, entertainment and fundraising at our Heartbeat Summer Party!
📅 Sunday 2nd August
🕑 2:00pm – 7:00pm
📍 Durham Ox, Longridge

This fantastic event is being hosted and organised by Heartbeat member Gino Eccles, who decided he wanted to give something back to the charity following his heart attack and the fitting of stents. Since then, Gino has been attending Heartbeat and says:
"The support I have received from this charity is second to none." ❤️

Gino and his daughter, Hayley, will be performing throughout the afternoon, alongside a DJ, entertainment, great food and a raffle.

All proceeds from the event will go directly to Heartbeat, helping us continue to support people living with cardiac, stroke and pulmonary conditions across the North West.
Please come along, bring your friends and family and help support a cause that means so much to Gino and so many others!

⚠️ IMPORTANT UPDATE – MORECAMBE BAY WALK CANCELLED⚠️

We are very sorry to announce that the Morecambe Bay Walk scheduled for this Saturday has been cancelled.

Following advice from our guide, the decision has been made due to high water levels in the river and the predicted weather forecast. Whilst we know many of you were looking forward to taking part, safety must come first.🌧️🌊

We are currently working with the guide to arrange an alternative date later in the year and will share this with all registered walkers as soon as it has been confirmed.

If you were due to attend the walk, please email [email protected] to let us know that you have received and are aware of the cancellation.

🥾❤️ FUNDRAISER SPOTLIGHT ❤️🥾

A huge thank you to Mark & Andrew, who have chosen to support Heartbeat through an incredible challenge this year.

On 14th August 2026, they will take on the famous 100km Death March in Belgium, walking an astonishing 100km in just 24 hours! 🚶‍♂️🚶‍♂️

Earlier this year, Mark & Andrew visited Heartbeat to see first-hand the difference the charity makes and to learn more about where the money they raise will go. Their fundraising will help us continue providing specialist exercise rehabilitation, support and education for over 1,000 cardiac, stroke and pulmonary patients across the North West. ❤️

They are raising money for Heartbeat because of the support the charity has provided to a close family member over the past seven years following major heart surgery. What began as a place for rehabilitation became a lifeline – helping to improve fitness, wellbeing and quality of life, while providing expert support, encouragement and a community that truly understands the challenges of cardiac recovery.

As Mark & Andrew say:
"Heartbeat North West doesn’t just help people recover. It helps them live again."

🌱💚 It's Volunteer Week, and today we're giving a huge shout-out to Alan!

Alan has been hard at work in our allotment, helping our vegetable patch thrive. Thanks to his dedication, we're pleased to report that our crops are almost ripe and ready to harvest! 🍅🥬

Keep your eyes peeled for fresh radishes and tomatoes coming soon to our reception area.

We can't wait to share the fruits (and vegetables!) of our allotment volunteers hard work with everyone.

🏅👏 Huge congratulations to Heartbeat class member Ian Simmonds on once again conquering the Great Manchester 10K on Sunday alongside his daughter, Laura!

Not only did Ian cross the finish line with a smile, but he also smashed his previous time, taking another 2 minutes off last year's result! 🎉💪

Ian credits his fantastic achievement to all the hard work he puts in during his weekly gym sessions at Heartbeat, proof that dedication and consistency really do pay off.

We're incredibly proud of you, Ian. Keep inspiring us all! ❤️🏃‍♂️🏅
