Some highlights from day one the 30th Anniversary of São Paulo Pride Parade!

We were at the Diversity Fair - hundreds of stalls of organisations from all over Brazil, a main stage with performances (and us!), and a DJ stage the UK delegation performed at.

Then, a roundtable discussion to open the 7th Meeting of Brazilian LGBT+ Pride Parade organisations.

We had our amazing drag king .fisk turning heads with a spectacular DJ look, and our chair Kevin representing Scotland in a kilt 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

Oban Pride has been selected to represent Scotland at the 30th anniversary celebrations of São Paulo Pride in Brazil.

June is Pride Month. And yes, we still need it.

Because people are still made to feel ashamed of who they are.

Because people are still afraid to go out as themselves.

Because some people are trying to make it more difficult for us to be ourselves.

Because there’s a new generation of young people trying to find their place and their community.

Happy Pride Month to all of them.

We already have a Samba band leading our march, and now Oban Pride is going to Brazil! 🇧🇷🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

We are representing Scotland at São Paulo Pride Parade on June 7th!

We will be attending the 7th Brazilian Meeting of LGBT+Pride Parade Organisations, the LGBT+ Cultural Diversity Fair, the Diversa Short Film Festival, and visiting several amazing LGBT+ social projects, to share experiences and creativity, connect with 90 Pride organisations from across Brazil, explore potential partnerships, and reach a community of millions who attend São Paulo Pride.

Award-winning Drag King and Oban Pride performer .fisk will be performing at events during the week, including on the UK delegation's music float in the Parade.

We are extremely grateful to the British Council for their support to the LGBTQIA+ community and for organising and funding this delegation.

We are also very grateful to for making sure I will be suitably and fabulously dressed!
