Today we met with Transport for Wales Trafnidiaeth Cymru and Campaign for Better Transport in Porth to celebrate Better Transport Week.

Porth is an excellent example of integrated transport, where the bus timetable reflects when the trains arrive at the station, to reduce waiting times.

The Treherbert line has recently undergone a major transformation as part of the South Wales Metro project, evolving from a historic valley line into a modern, electrified railway served by brand-new trains.

We've teamed up with Campaign for Better Transport to celebrate one of the biggest upgrades in rail infrastructure within the UK.

For the last day of Community Rail Week, one of our partnership members Invest Local Ynysowen has designed this great post about picking a train themed song!

We'd love to hear your suggestions in the comments - we'll kick it off with "Folsom Prison Blues" by Johnny Cash.

Our Community Rail Officer enjoys going out with her kayak (which fits into a backpack), trains are a great option to travel to a start point upriver and paddle back down.
