Have you visited our newest transformation yet?
Teddingtons field was once an old football field which has been transformed into a vibrant space for people and nature, thanks to Local Nature Partnership (LNP) funding. The site now features a range of creative art installations inspired by local wildlife and habitats, helping to celebrate the nature right on your doorstep. From unique ecological features to eye catching artwork, this space is designed to encourage people to connect with and appreciate the natural world around them. Why not take a walk, explore the site and discover the wildlife inspired features for yourself 🦇🐍🦊🌾🐝

Merthyr’s New Nature Ponds Receive National Recognition

The biodiversity team is delighted to share that the newly created ponds at Taf Bargoed Park have been recognised with a prestigious British Association of Landscape Industries (BALI) Award.
The pond creation project was developed to enhance biodiversity, create valuable habitat for wildlife and improve opportunities for people to connect with nature. Since their creation, the ponds have already become an important feature within the park, supporting a wide range of plants and animals while contributing to the area's wider ecological network.
Winning a national BALI Award is a fantastic achievement and reflects the hard work, dedication and collaboration of everyone involved in the project, from the initial planning and design stages through to delivery on site.
The award highlights the importance of investing in high-quality green infrastructure and demonstrates how local projects can make a significant contribution to nature recovery whilst enhancing public spaces for residents and visitors.
Representatives from the project team will attend the BALI Awards Ceremony in London this December, where the achievement will be formally celebrated alongside some of the UK's leading landscape and environmental projects.
This award is a testament to Merthyr Tydfil's commitment to biodiversity, sustainability and creating spaces where both people and wildlife can thrive.
