An award winning charity helping young people in the New Forest achieve their potential.

Olivia Inspires was set up to allow the spirit of New Forest student, Olivia Burt to live on after her tragic death in 2018. What Olivia Inspires Does

Olivia Inspires helps children and young people aged 11 to 18 years, who live in, or are educated in the New Forest District Council area and who are facing financial hardship. We do this by awarding grants of money, normally no more than £500, to provide items or services to enable them to achieve their potential in STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics), the arts and sport.

A massive thank you and huge congratulations to Olivia's friend from her Milford-on-Sea CofE Primary School days, Louis Brown who has just completed an epic cycle ride from London to Istanbul! He covered 4,140km (2,572 miles) over 59 days; crossed 14 countries and three time zones on his incredible journey.

He's been raising funds for 2 charities and we're honoured that one of them is Olivia Inspires , the other being The Thomas Ball Children's Cancer Fund . Thank you to everyone who has kindly donated so far. You can still support Louis by donating at:

CONGRATULATIONS!

We always love to hear how young people we've helped are getting on. This week we've heard that a talented young bowler from Totton, who we helped last year has finished 2nd in England in the U14s National Championships! Armed with his own bowls that Olivia Inspires gave him, he beat many bowlers 2 years older than him. WELL DONE! ❤

Over the summer, Olivia's charity funded a sailing day with our friends, the Rona Sailing Project for children taking part in the St Barbe Museum + Art Gallery Holiday Activities and Food (HAF) Programme.

They all had a great time on the yacht and St Barbe told us: "Opportunities like this give young people the chance to step outside their comfort zone, experience something new and recognise their own potential. Those who took part developed their confidence, teamwork and communication skills, helping them to build a stronger belief in their own abilities.

"The summer holidays can be a particularly challenging time for many families and we're incredibly grateful for your support and the difference it has made to so many children. You have helped us create positive and memorable opportunities that our young people would otherwise not have had, and we truly appreciate your generosity."

A friend of Olivia's from her Milford-on-Sea CofE Primary School days, Louis Brown has just set off on an epic 60 day cycle ride from London to Istanbul! He'll be raising funds for 2 charities and we're honoured that one of them is Olivia Inspires, the other being The Thomas Ball Children's Cancer Fund.

He was seen on his way by a group of his friends and we'll be following his progress.

The 33rd Crook Peak Cake Race has just been run. A record turn out of 146 competitors tackled the 3 mile race in the Mendip Hills including a lung busting 800 feet of climb, with the winners receiving a delicious chocolate cake!

We are honoured that all of the entry fees were once again donated to Olivia Inspires - an amazing £1,625! We would like to say a massive 'THANK YOU!' to all of the competitors and the organisers, especially Olivia's friend Cori Robbins and her family.

The National Championships for the ILCA class sailing dinghies has just been held at the 2012 Olympic venue in Weymouth in a great mixture of conditions.

We're delighted that the beautiful Olivia Burt Trophy, first presented in 2020 was awarded to Pippa Knights of Burghfield Sailing Club. Pippa became the ILCA 4 Female National Champion; finishing 6th overall in a strong field after 13 races. It was particularly fitting that the trophy was presented by Lymington's own Olympic sailor and good friend of Olivia, Hannah Snellgrove.
