πŸ† TASIS England American School

Huge congratulations to TASIS, winners of our Wildlife Champions category.

Pupils across both Upper and Lower School have been deeply involved in Roots & Shoots, from weekly Wildlife Club sessions to whole class participation in 5th Grade. Students have also supported local wildlife beyond the school grounds, helping care for ducklings with Lower Shaw Farm, observing their development and learning about animal welfare. Alongside this, they have painted animal themed stones for a garden path and visited Jane’s Tree, planted to mark the 25th Roots & Shoots anniversary.

These hands on projects are building knowledge, empathy, and a lasting connection with nature, a brilliant example of young people becoming true wildlife champions.

🌱 Community Action and Efforts Category Winner
πŸ† Moreton Hall

A huge congratulations to Moreton Hall, winners of our Community Action and Efforts category.

Led by Upper Sixth Eco Captain Anya, the Eco Team began their journey with a shoreline clean up in Aberystwyth, removing rubbish and plastic from beaches and surrounding community areas. What started as a powerful day of action quickly became something more, combining environmental impact with teamwork, fun, and a long term commitment to caring for the planet.

Building on this momentum, pupils went on to organise an annual Canal Clean Up on the Llangollen Canal. Around half the school took part, alongside the 32 strong Eco Team, collecting litter both on foot and by kayak. The day also included learning activities such as a canal themed quiz, helping turn the clean up into a full community experience.

The initiative received praise from the local community and has helped create a culture of positive environmental action at Moreton Hall. From global awareness to local impact, these projects show how young people can build lasting traditions that support wildlife, inspire others, and strengthen community spirit.
