Team spots are now officially open for the nsif 7th Annual Clay Pigeon Flush on Friday 12th June 2026 at the stunning Pennsport Shooting School in Newbury, and we’d love to have you with us.

Last year, thanks to your incredible support, we raised over £40,000 for life changing spinal cord injury research. This year, we’re aiming even higher.

A huge thank you to The Waterside Inn, Bray-on-Thames for their extraordinary generosity and for hosting such a memorable celebration of culinary excellence and community spirit.

Chef Alain Roux recently welcomed David Nicholls (Founder of nsif) and Mark Lewis (Chief Executive of Hospitality Action) to present cheques totalling £30,000, raised during December’s unforgettable dinner marking 40 consecutive years of Three Michelin Stars.

🌟 🏃‍♂️ Endurance for a Cure: Eddie Takes on the Haworth Hobble for nsif

We are so grateful to Eddie Houldsworth for choosing to take on the 45th Haworth Hobble, a 51km ultra marathon across the Yorkshire moors with 1,700m of ascent, in support of The Nicholls Spinal Injury Foundation. It’s a huge physical and mental challenge, and he is doing it for a cause incredibly close to his heart.

Eddie’s inspiration is his family member, Steven, who was paralysed at just 15 after a sudden virus. Told he would never walk again, Steven worked tirelessly through intensive rehabilitation and can now walk short distances with sticks; a testament to resilience and hope.

By fundraising for nsif, Eddie is helping drive the most promising research towards a cure for spinal cord injury, bringing us closer to a UK human trial that could change thousands of lives.

We are so grateful to the teams at both Gates Garden Centres and its customers for their incredible generosity over the festive period, resulting in a £1,000 donation to nsif, along with EMICS and the Matt Hampson Foundation 💜

Throughout the Christmas season, Gates Garden Centres in both Oakham and Hinckley sold Charity Jingle Bells, generously supported by our customers. Thanks to their kindness, we’re proud to help these incredible charities continue their vital work. On 22nd January, Nigel Gates had the privilege of presenting cheques to the charities who benefited from the Jingle Bells initiative:

EMICS - EMICS are volunteer doctors and paramedics with specialist training in emergency medicine who assist East Midlands Ambulance Service (EMAS) at the scene of life-threatening accidents.

Matt Hampson Foundation - The Matt Hampson Foundation supports young people injured through sport via physiotherapy, personal training, mentoring and advice, to help people with life-changing injuries get living again.

NSIF - The Nicholls Spinal Injury Foundation are committed to funding research and development into curing spinal cord injury.

What a phenomenal weekend! On 26 & 27 October, we welcomed our incredible supporters to the 19th Annual nsif Golf Day - our flagship fundraising event and a true highlight of the year.

From Sunday’s practice round at the Oxfordshire Golf Hotel & Spa to a sparkling champagne reception and dazzling Gala Dinner, the energy was electric. With heartfelt words from our founder David Nicholls, a four-course feast by the Mandarin Oriental, and unforgettable performances by West End stars, the evening was one of celebration and purpose.
