🛡️ THE WEST MIDLANDS COMES TOGETHER FOR STAFFORD 🛡️

This is what being part of a regional team is all about.

Members have travelled from Coventry, Stoke-on-Trent, Birmingham, Nuneaton, Telford and Market Drayton to come together in Stafford and support our local member.

It’s great to see members willing to travel and support another area, but ultimately we want Stafford to have its own local Shield team.

We already have a member in Stafford who wants to help make that happen. Now we need more local people to step forward and join them.

You don't need to be ex-military, ex-police or have a security background. We're looking for ordinary men and women who care about their communities, can stay calm and approachable, and want to give some of their time to help others.

We Are The Shield is fully run by volunteers. Our role is about providing a visible presence, looking out for vulnerable people, reporting concerns and helping where we safely can. We are not the police and we're not trying to replace them.

And when an area only has one member, the rest of the region will do what it can to support them.

But imagine what we could achieve if Stafford had a strong team of its own. 💚

So if you're from Stafford or the surrounding area and you've been thinking about getting involved, we'd love to hear from you.

🛡️ One member is already here.

🛡️ Let's find the people who will stand alongside them.

🛡️ Let's build a Shield team in Stafford.

Could you be one of them?

🛡️ WE ARE THE SHIELD – MARKET DRAYTON

Our West Midlands Region has been out in Market Drayton again, providing a visible and approachable presence within the community.

Our Market Drayton team is growing, but we still need more local people to get involved and help us build a strong, reliable team in the area.

We Are The Shield is fully run by volunteers. Our members give up their own time because they want to make a positive difference in their communities.

We’re not the police and we’re not here to replace them. Our role is about being visible, looking out for vulnerable people, recording and reporting concerns, providing first aid where needed, and contacting the appropriate emergency services when necessary.

You don’t need a military, police or security background. We’re looking for ordinary people with the right attitude — people who are calm, approachable and genuinely care about their community.

🛡️ Enhanced DBS
📚 Training provided
🪪 Uniform and identification
🤝 Full support from experienced members
❤️ Male and female volunteers welcome

If you’re in or around Market Drayton and you’ve ever thought about doing something positive for your community, now is a great time to get involved.

The bigger the local team becomes, the more we can do.

Your community. Your team. Your Shield. 🛡️

🛡️ THE NORTH WEST NEEDS YOU! 🛡️

Our North West Region has been out on patrol, providing a visible, approachable presence and helping to look out for vulnerable people within our communities.

But to do more, we need more people to step forward.

We Are The Shield is completely run by volunteers — ordinary men and women giving up some of their spare time because they want to make a positive difference where they live.

You don't need to be ex-military, ex-police or have any special background. We're looking for people with common sense, empathy and a genuine desire to help others.

Our Service Members receive the required training, undergo an Enhanced DBS check and are covered by our insurance and operating procedures.

We're not here to replace the police and we're not vigilantes. Our role is about visibility, reassurance, safeguarding and reporting concerns to the appropriate authorities.

The bigger our teams become, the more areas we can cover and the more regularly we can get out into our communities.

📍 If you're in the North West and you've ever thought about getting involved, now is the time.

Whether you're in Liverpool, Manchester or elsewhere across the region, we'd love to hear from you.

🛡️ Don't just wish things were better — help us make a difference.

🛡️ TELFORD TEAM OUT ON PATROL – MAKING A DIFFERENCE IN OUR COMMUNITY 🛡️

Our West Midlands team were out on patrol around Dawley and Malinslee in Telford, this time welcoming a new recruit who joined our members to see first-hand what We Are The Shield is all about.

But what started as a routine patrol soon turned into something much more important.

❤️ A CONCERNED MUM NEEDED OUR HELP

While out in the community, our team were approached by a lady who was extremely worried because her son had not returned home from school.

Our members took the time to listen to her concerns and spent time searching the local area, hoping to help find him and bring some reassurance to his family.

As the evening went on, some of our members returned to continue looking for him.

Thankfully, the young lad was found later that night. ❤️

🛡️ THIS IS WHY WE DO WHAT WE DO!

Being part of We Are The Shield isn't just about walking around our local streets and parks.

It's about being there when someone needs help. It's about having a visible, approachable presence in our communities so that people know they have someone they can turn to.

Whether it's helping someone who feels vulnerable, offering reassurance, reporting concerns to the appropriate authorities or simply taking the time to listen, our volunteers are there because they genuinely care about the communities they live in.

We won't always be able to prevent every incident or solve every problem, but we can make a difference by being present and doing what we can to help.

And sometimes, just knowing that someone is willing to give up their own time to help can mean the world to a person who is worried or frightened.

💪 COULD YOU BE OUR NEXT RECRUIT?

We were also delighted to welcome a new recruit to our Telford team on this patrol!

Every new member helps us build a stronger team and gives us the opportunity to spend more time out in our communities.

We're always looking for more people in Telford and the surrounding areas who want to get involved.

You don't need a military or policing background. You just need to care about your community, be willing to learn and have the right attitude towards helping others.

We provide training, have safeguarding procedures in place and operate as a fully volunteer-run organisation.

If you've been thinking about doing something positive for your local area, why not come and join us?

🛡️ BE PART OF SOMETHING THAT MAKES A DIFFERENCE.

Interested in joining our Telford team or finding out more about what we do?

Drop us a message or visit our website to find out how you can get involved.

Together, we can help make our communities safer, one patrol at a time. ❤️

🛡️ A MASSIVE THANK YOU TO FREE SPIRITS MCC! 🛡️

We’d like to say a huge thank you to FREE SPIRITS MCC in Stoke-on-Trent for their incredible support of We Are The Shield.

On 11th July, the club held their Custom Show, bringing people together for a fantastic event — and incredibly, they chose to donate all the money raised on the day to The Shield.

The cheque has now been collected, and we genuinely cannot thank everyone involved enough. ❤️

As a self-funded Community Interest Company, support like this means a great deal to us. Donations help us continue building teams, supporting our volunteers and increasing the work we can do within communities across the country.

But this is about more than the money.

It’s about one community organisation choosing to support another. It’s about people giving up their time, organising an event and deciding that the proceeds should go towards helping us continue our work supporting vulnerable people and creating a visible, reassuring presence within our communities.

To FREE SPIRITS MCC, everyone who organised the Custom Show, everyone who helped out on the day, and every single person who attended, donated or contributed:

THANK YOU. 🛡️❤️

Your generosity and support are massively appreciated by everyone at We Are The Shield.

This is what community is all about — people coming together and supporting people.

🛡️ FREE SPIRITS MCC — from all of us at The Shield, thank you for standing with us.

🛡️ WE ARE THE SHIELD – WEST MIDLANDS | TELFORD

Another evening out across Telford, with members of our West Midlands team covering Dawley, Malinslee and Telford Town Park.

These are our communities. They're the places where our children play, where families spend their time and where people should be able to go about their day feeling safe.

That's why our members continue to give up their own time to provide a visible, approachable presence across Telford.

We're not the police and we're not trying to replace them. Our role is about safeguarding — keeping our eyes and ears open, engaging with people, offering reassurance and assistance, recording and reporting concerns where appropriate, and contacting the emergency services when immediate help is required.

🛡️ Eyes. Ears. Empathy.

The Telford team is growing, and it's fantastic to see more local people stepping forward. But Telford is a big place, and we simply can't be everywhere.

That's why we still need more men and women from Telford to join us.

You don't need a police, military or security background. We're looking for ordinary, sensible and approachable people who care about their community.

Even if you can only give a couple of hours one evening a week, that can make a difference. The more local members we have, the more regularly we can be present across our parks, estates, town centre and surrounding communities.

💛 Dawley. Malinslee. Woodside. Madeley. Wellington. Donnington. Brookside. And beyond.

If you've seen us around Telford, spoken to one of our members, or you've been following what we're doing online and thought “I'd like to help” — now is the time to get involved.

Message We Are The Shield to find out more about becoming a Service Member and joining the growing Telford team.

Local people. Looking out for local people. 🛡️
