Through a lack of access, guidance, and opportunities, too many young men in the UK are not realising their potential. At the Rio Ferdinand Foundation, we strive to provide a platform for young people to gain qualifications, make connections, and fulfil their potential.
The Centre for Social Justice’s Lost Boys report highlights that ‘boys and young men are in crisis’ and that this generation of boys is being left behind.
Dante’s journey with the Foundation is a shining light on how collaboration, partnerships and opportunity can provide a platform for young men to achieve.
Through RFF and its partnership with Therapy First, he was able to gain qualifications, real experience in elite sport, and the confidence to go to university to gain the skills to move into physiotherapy within professional football.
While might be a hashtag we use a lot, Dante’s story is a great example of what it actually looks like in practice and why creating opportunities is so important.
