Deafroots

Based in East London, Deafroots is a local charity that has been established in August 2000. We have also been very successful abroad.

Since then, we are providing help and support to the deaf community in the London borough of Newham, and neighbouring boroughs. We also serve several neighboring boroughs which include Waltham Forest, Tower Hamlets, Redbridge and Hackney. We mainly help in Lagos and specifically Ikeja in Nigeria.

🎨🧶 WELLBEING WORKSHOP – ART & CROCHET

Join us tomorrow, Tuesday 18th August, for another relaxing and creative session at Deafroots! 💙

Last Tuesday we started our artwork, and tomorrow we’ll continue by adding gems and decorations to give our pieces the finishing touch. ✨

We’ll also be practising crochet, so whether you joined us last week or just want to come along, you’re very welcome!

Looking to improve your BSL, meet new people, and enjoy a relaxed morning with the Deaf community? Come along to our friendly BSL Chat Session hosted by Deafroots!

Whether you’re a beginner, learning BSL, or already fluent, everyone is welcome. This is a great opportunity to practise your signing, build confidence, make new friends, and enjoy conversations in a supportive and welcoming environment.

📢 Important Update – BSL Chat Session Cancelled

Unfortunately, tomorrow’s BSL Chat Session at Stratford Library has been cancelled due to the hot weather conditions and to help ensure everyone’s comfort and wellbeing.

We know many of you were looking forward to meeting up, practising BSL, and having a chat, and we’re sorry for any disappointment this may cause.

Please stay safe, keep cool, drink plenty of water, and take care of yourselves during the hot weather. ☀️💧
