After a whirlwind, record breaking ten days, Heritage Open Days 2026 has drawn to a close 🩷

A huge and heartfelt THANK YOU to everyone who has been part of this year’s festival - the biggest and most unforgettable yet, with over 6200 events taking place up and down the country.

To every organiser and volunteer who opened a door, shared a story, led a tour, answered a question, put the kettle on, hung up some pink bunting and made people feel welcome: thank you.

Heritage Open Days simply wouldn’t happen without the time, care and enthusiasm you give so generously.

We're hugely grateful to the players of Postcode Lottery UK, the support of the National Trust, our theme sponsor Findmypast and all of the partners and supporters who help make the festival possible.

And to everyone who came along, whether you travelled miles, discovered somewhere on your doorstep, tried something new or returned to an old favourite, thank you for being part of it.

We'll be back in 2027, but for now, what’s the moment you’ll remember from this year's Heritage Open Days?
