Keshet Summer Day Scheme - it's a wrap! ☀️🎢🦁💦

From thrilling rollercoasters and splash-filled adventures to unforgettable animal encounters, this year’s Keshet Summer Day Scheme has been filled with smiles, laughter and precious family memories.

For many Camp Simcha families, the summer holidays can be one of the most challenging times of the year. With school routines and regular support often on pause, parents may be juggling hospital appointments, treatments and caring responsibilities, while still trying to make the summer special for every child in the family.

That’s why our Keshet days are so important. They give families the chance to enjoy a day out together, knowing that their child’s medical needs are supported, so they can focus on what really matters – spending time together and having fun.

Across London and Manchester, families joined us for 13 fantastic outings to destinations including Whipsnade Zoo, Alton Towers, LEGOLAND and Adventure Island.

With more than 1,500 attendances across the summer, there were so many moments of joy and togetherness.

A huge thank you to everyone who helped make these special days possible.

Spaces are filling up fast for our London B’nei Mitzvah and Manchester Bas Mitzvah programmes!

Last year, an incredible 204 young people took part, raising more than £105,000 and also giving their time to help make a real difference to families with seriously ill children.

If your child would like to be part of a fun, meaningful programme that combines volunteering, fundraising and hands-on activities, Gemma, our Community Projects Co-ordinator, explains what it's all about and why so many young people are choosing to get involved.

"It's our normal, but it is something most people never see."

For Mel, caring for her son Otto, who has Alagille syndrome, a rare genetic condition, this is what every day looks like:
“Measuring medications. Preparing feeds. Double-checking timings. Making sure we have enough supplies.

“Living with Alagille syndrome doesn’t stop when the hospital appointments end – it comes home with us every single day.

“If sharing our reality helps just one more person understand rare disease a little better, then it is worth it.”

We are so grateful to Mel for sharing what the reality of living with a rare disease can look like.

As thousands of young people receive their A-level results tomorrow and GCSEs next week, everyone at Camp Simcha is wishing you the very best of luck.

But we also want to take a moment to think of the young people and families for whom results day looks very different.

Some children and young people living with serious illness or facing complex mental health challenges, simply haven't been in a position to sit their exams. Others have had their education disrupted by treatment, long hospital stays or circumstances beyond their control. For these families, results day can be a painful reminder of opportunities missed, or just how much life has changed.

So if tomorrow is difficult for you, please know you're not alone.

And for those who are collecting results, we hope they bring moments of celebration and pride. But whatever your grades, remember they are just one part of your story - they don't define your worth or your future.

We're looking for a passionate and organised Big Brother & Big Sister Volunteer Coordinator to help lead one of Camp Simcha's most vital programmes.

Our Big Brother & Big Sister volunteer programme creates life-changing friendships between trained volunteers and the children and siblings we support. These volunteers are often there through the highs and lows, bringing joy, consistency and connection when it matters most. Together, they give over 100,000 hours of their time each year.

As Big Brother & Big Sister Volunteer Coordinator, you'll play a key role in recruiting, supporting and nurturing these incredible volunteers, helping to ensure that more children and young people benefit from these special relationships.

Meet the incredible people behind our family support.

Our 12 wonderful family liaison officers are there for families through some of the most difficult times in their lives, arranging practical help and therapeutic interventions – as well as providing emotional support tailored to each family's needs.

Collectively, they provide almost 15,000 hours of support every year – with years of experience ensuring they often know what a family needs before they do themselves.

While no two families’ journeys are the same, the impact of having someone beside you every step of the way is life changing.

📣 We're looking for a confident and engaging Community Awareness Workshop Facilitator to help us raise awareness of Camp Simcha across schools and community groups.

This flexible, ad hoc role is perfect for someone who enjoys connecting with people, sharing meaningful stories and making a real difference. As a representative of Camp Simcha, you'll help deliver workshops that educate, inform and inspire, helping more families learn about the support available to them.
