✨Carers Week is a time to recognise the quiet, often unseen role so many parents take on when their child is seriously ill.✨

At Camp Simcha, we see first-hand how parents become carers, often overnight. Alongside the love and resilience, there are also worries and emotions that are not always easy to share.

Many parents tell us there are things they don’t feel comfortable saying to family and friends - fears they don’t want to voice out loud, moments of overwhelm or simply the need to admit that they’re struggling and that’s where our Family Liaison Officers come in.

They become a trusted, understanding presence, someone who listens without judgement and who creates a safe space for parents to say the things they can’t say anywhere else.

This , we honour not only the care parents give, but also the importance of making sure they feel heard and never alone.

If you or someone you know needs our support, please get in touch 020 8202 9297 or [email protected].

✨We asked some of our incredible volunteers what volunteering means to them…in just one word.✨

From our dedicated drivers and committee members, to our Big Brothers & Big Sisters, office volunteers, young ambassadors, project volunteers and even one of our four-legged Animal Assisted Therapy companions.

These are just a handful of the amazing volunteers who make Camp Simcha what it is. Each individual who helps us brings something unique to Camp Simcha. While their words may be different, they all share one thing in common: a commitment to supporting families facing childhood serious illness.

This , we’re celebrating every volunteer who gives their time and compassion to help make a difference.

Thank you!

🌸This week, we were delighted to host our annual Camp Simcha Mums’ Spa Day - a very special event that has been running for more than 10 years.🌸

For mums caring for a seriously ill child, finding time for themselves can be incredibly difficult. Our Spa Day offers a chance to step away from the day-to-day pressures of caring and offers them a chance to simply relax.

Mums were treated to a range of pre-booked sessions including massage, reflexology, hypnotherapy, hairstyling, nail treatments and makeup sessions, all generously provided by our wonderful therapists.

Seeing mums take time for themselves, connect with others who understand their experiences, and most importantly leave feeling refreshed and uplifted is what makes this day so special and an annual highlight.

🌸A huge thank you to everyone who helped make the day possible.🌸

👏A huge well done to our 29 incredible runners who took on the Great Manchester Run on Sunday!👏

With 10 runners completing the Half Marathon and 19 taking on the 10K, we couldn’t be prouder of their amazing achievement.

We were delighted to be there cheering them across the finish line and are so grateful to every runner for their dedication and energy.

✨Thank you for being part of it and helping make a difference for the families we support.✨

🎁 Wow! What a lovely surprise from Tali. 🎁

Tali made an incredibly thoughtful donation of toys for children in hospital. After receiving pocket money, she kindly chose to spend it on gifts to help bring smiles to children in hospital. Alongside the toys, she also wrote a beautiful note, making the donation even more special.

With World Play Day today, this feels like the perfect reminder of how important play can be for children facing difficult days in hospital.

🙏 Thank you, Tali, for thinking of others and spreading so much kindness. 🙏

We understand how living with epilepsy can affect the whole family and how having the right support can make a real difference.

Our direct crisis support services are here for families who have a child with uncontrolled epilepsy, while our Epilepsy Community of Support group connects parents who have a child living with epilepsy. The group offers a confidential, safe and supportive environment via a moderated WhatsApp group, informal meet-ups and expert speakers. You do not need to be an existing Camp Simcha family to join.

If you would like to find out more about our support, please get in touch with [email protected] or visit: https://communities.campsimcha.org.uk/epilepsy/epilepsy-how-we-support/

Epilepsy is just one of the 50+ conditions we support at Camp Simcha.

😀A huge thank you to the amazing Tammy who cut her hair this morning in support of Camp Simcha.😀

Her mum Emily shared: “Tammy cut her hair this morning and she smiled the entire time. She took her new Camp Simcha monkey along for moral support.”

😀Well done Tammy! We think you look amazing with your new haircut and thank you for helping us continue supporting seriously ill children and their families.😀
