Over 1500 signed up to visit the farm & pick flowers this summer. 🌼🫠🌻
From Canary Wharf to Croydon, Ipswich to Bromley, Kingston to Dunstable, we welcomed more new people to the farm than before.
“We got here at 11.30am and we were the last ones left. I spent the first hour not even picking anything. I wanted to be mindful and be in love with every single flower that I picked.” - Motola
This summer, despite the challenging heat we reached our dream of being open 7 DAYS A WEEK, and supplied flowers for a record 6 weddings this season.
As always, our flower picking isn’t about quickly stuffing as many flowers as possible into a jar. It’s about how the flowers make you feel; slowing down, appreciating the land and experiencing the whole ecosystem that makes this possible - including our pollinators, volunteers, and young people!
“Very special indeed, restorative for the soul. My friend said it was the highlight of her month and that’s after she’d been travelling the Lake District and Scotland! The flowers are real flowers rather than those you normally buy at the shop.” Marjom.
People brought picnics, wandered through the beds, learned how to use grasses and lesser-known foliage in their bunches, and got creative with what they had around them - bringing their own jars, reusing old containers, even turning empty plastic bottles into flower holders.
Butterflies and bees lingered on the flower heads as you headed up the path, right out of the gate, with many saying you experienced “freedom, serenity, and peace” coming here.
Agroecological flower growing is not just about quantity and profit, but value, connection and creating a sustainable system that benefits the whole ecosystem. The money raised through our events helps fund our charitable work, including programmes like Flower Academy, educating the next gen of flower growers/florists and feeding back into our .
