Legal professionals from across the community came together at Trowers & Hamlins to support Jami, Jewish Care’s mental health service, and hear from leading lawyer Adam Rose, Partner at Mishcon de Reya.

In conversation with Sarah Villani, Adam shared reflections on his legal career, his work supporting British-connected hostage families, and his advocacy on issues affecting the Jewish community today.

Thank you to Adam Rose, Sarah Villani, Louis Zenios, Sophie Wimbourne, and to Paul Marco and everyone at Trowers & Hamlins for hosting, and all those who attended and supported the event.

All proceeds will help Jami continue providing life-changing mental health support to children, young people and adults through counselling, community programmes, vocational guidance, education and training, and Head Room, its mental health hub on the high street.

This inspiring morning marked the first of what we hope will be many YJJC Law Breakfasts, bringing together the next generation of professionals while raising awareness and vital funds for mental health services in our community. 💜🧡

Meet David, who volunteers with YJJC. 🧡

Having volunteered since he was a teenager, David was keen to continue giving back when he moved to London. After hearing about YJJC from a friend, he saw it as the perfect opportunity, and a new challenge.

“I had never volunteered with the elderly before, so beyond the good deed itself, it was also something new for me.”

For David, volunteering is as rewarding as it is meaningful: “I personally feel that I receive much more than what I give, there’s no better feeling than realising you’ve done something good for someone else.”

He adds that it’s also about the people:
“I’ve learned so much from people’s life stories, I’m grateful to have had the chance to get to know these extraordinary people.”

Since getting involved, David has taken part in a range of activities, from meaningful interactions with residents to hands-on initiatives like preparing soup packages, which he describes as a highlight:
“It felt like combining two good deeds at once and the messages guests wrote were so deep and considerate.”

His message to others thinking about volunteering?
“Go for it! Even once in a while can make a huge difference.”
