Christian Concern

Christian Concern We want to see Jesus Christ at the heart of society – we seek justice, speak truth and bring hope We engage on a wide range of issues.

Equipping you to be an effective ambassador for Jesus Christ in today’s culture. We’re passionate about bringing the love, justice, truth, freedom and hope of Jesus Christ to the heart of society. And we’re building a movement of Christians who share that passion. We believe that Jesus Christ is good news for society and as relevant today as he has ever been. We believe that a flourishing future i

s a future shaped around him. But we also know that it’s becoming harder to be a Christian in the UK today. So, we’re at work to make Jesus and his ways known, to protect the freedom to live and speak for him, and to empower Christians to be compassionate and courageous ambassadors. We do that by speaking and influencing, by challenging and protecting, and by mobilising and equipping. We also have three specialist ministries that complement our wider work: Christian Legal Centre, Wilberforce Academy and Wilberforce Publications.

A British Christian has been charged under India's forced conversion ban for allegedly attempting to convert Hindus to Christianity. Is this a foreshadowing of the future for us here in the UK?

While the UK's proposed 'conversion practices' ban and India's anti-conversion law seem unrelated at first glance, the core issue is the same.

In India, the false god of Hinduism is censoring Christian witness and criminalising those sharing biblical truth.

And here, the proposed 'conversion therapy ban' seeks to protect the false gods of LGBTQ ideology by criminalising pastors and parents.

In both cases, conversion to believe biblical truth and live accordingly is shut down through the legal system - even if the law only talks about 'coercion'.

Please join us to pray for justice and vindication for the Christian in India, as well as others facing similar situations.

And please also pray for the protection of our Christian freedoms and for our nation to promote, instead of prohibiting, biblical truth.

WARNING: Schools’ guidance is demonising Christian belief

The Equality and Human Rights Commission (EHRC) has published new draft technical guidance for schools.

The EHRC is asking whether the guidance clearly and accurately explains schools’ duties under the Equality Act 2010. It does not.

In fact, it demonises Christian belief. The clear message is that Christians are the ones who must be restrained.

This cannot not be allowed to stand.

ON THIS DAY: Christian politician and cultural advocate William Wilberforce was born

"Wilberforce took on an entire industry that had everything going for it – the money, power and influence. And yet, it was Wilberforce in his final days that rested, knowing his work was successful." writes Darius Sandhu reflecting on Wilberforce's legacy.

With the support of other Christians and by the grace of God, Wilberforce overturned the slave trade.

The battles facing us may seem equally formidable.

But with God on our side, the battle is already won.

And Wilberforce's legacy proves that with God, nothing is impossible.

What kind of message would the legalisation of assisted su***de send to someone who struggles with mental health?

Our Head of Public Policy Tim Dieppe outlines 12 reasons not to legalise assisted su***de 👇

1. Legalising assisted su***de implies that some people are ‘better off dead’
2. Legalising assisted su***de will put pressure on vulnerable people to end their lives

The UK shouldn't legalise assisted su***de because it devalues life, is unbiblical, and poses a threat to the most vulnerable in our society.

Former archbishop wants to ask Tommy Robinson some 'awkward questions'

Rowan Williams has claimed in an interview that figures like Nigel Farage and Tommy Robinson are using Christianity ‘to stir anti-Muslim feeling’.

At the same time, he says “There’s an inevitable scepticism these days about some claims to religious conviction, and I don’t want to give way to this. If Tommy Robinson is doing his best to lead a life of Christian discipleship, I’m very glad, but I would really want to ask him some awkward questions.”

But do church leaders ask enough awkward questions of those who claim to be Christians on the political left? Many politicians support abortion, LGBTQ or assisted su***de while claiming to be Christian.

It is always fair to ask serious questions of campaigners and politicians, particularly those who name Christ.

Jesus Christ is the true hope of our nation. Pray for all of our leaders to recognise his authority and that his pattern for our lives is good for all of us.

Behind every clause are vulnerable people who need care, protection and hope, not assisted su***de.

Darius Sandhu explains why the return of the assisted su***de bill should alarm MPs, peers, and everyone concerned for vulnerable people.

This is not a technical debate. It is about real people, real pressure and real consequences. MPs must reject the assisted su***de bill at second reading.

7 YEARS AGO: Dr Rachid Abbasi is arrested for refusing to leave the bedside of his critically ill daughter

Six-year-old Zainab was suffering from rare life-limiting condition called Niemann-Pick Disease.

In addition to this, after contracted swine flu at the age of two, she also suffered from serious respiratory problems, which required treatment.

After doctors announced her life-saving treatment would be withdrawn without the family’s consent, Rachid refused to leave Zainab's side.

The hospital staff then got him arrested, which led to him suffering a heart attack right outside the room where his little daughter was fighting for her life.

Zainab tragically died four weeks later.

With support from Christian Concern and the Christian Legal Centre, the Abbasis challenged extremely broad reporting restrictions that prevented them from sharing their stories in full.

After winning their case at the Court of Appeal, the Supreme Court gave a landmark ruling in their favour on 16 April 2025.
