World Changing Centre (WCC) - Charity No. 1136070 Provides education, healthcare and sanitation in Sierra Leone. In the UK we provide support and training for parents with Autistic children.

Overview

World Changing Centre (WCC) is a UK registered charity (No. 1136070) that promotes child education in Sierra Leone. At WCC we believe that education – including formal and informal schooling, skills training and knowledge acquisition – is central to escaping poverty. Since its inception, WCC has also been committed to the provision of basic social and environmental amenities in the under

developed area of Sierra Leone. WCC aims to give children and young people in Sierra Leone with modern day healthcare services. Currently we operate an advisory service but we plan to develop the region by transforming health and sanitation standards through social mobilisation and awareness-raising around disease prevention. The World Changing Centre is a UK registered charity run by volunteers, providing international relief aid to underprivileged children and young people (aged 5-25) in Sierra Leone. And here in the UK we would like to pilot a Saturday club for families with autistic children within our local community of Greenwich. Our Saturday Club will target children and young adults (10 to 19) with Autism to support, educate and raise awareness for parents and others about their children’s condition. In addition to the main aims it will allow the members to be form a peer-to-peer support network amongst people in similar situations near them. The activities in these sessions would engage both parents and their young children in fun, simple activities that will help to support their relationship and understand .

Meeting with My PHD Autism researcher reviewing my book:

The closer you get to excellence in your life, the more friends you will lose. People love you when you are average because it makes them feel comfortable. But when you pursue greatness it makes people uncomfortable. Be prepared to lose some people on your journey.' Tony Allen Gaskins Jr., Motivational speaker, author and life coach (1984- )

'Have you ever noticed that Rolls Royce and Bentley don't run commercials? REASON: They know the value of their product brings customers to them. LESSON: When you know your value, you don't have to beg people to like you, to be your mate, to spend time with you or to love you. Be confident in who GOD made you to be. Everyone can't afford the LUXURY of your friendship.' Anon

2 Corinthians 10:4 (NKJV) states: "For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds." This verse highlights that spiritual battles are fought with divine power, not physical or worldly means, to overcome mental, spiritual, or ideological obstacles against God.

My journey began in Sierra Leone and led me to the United Kingdom in 1993. There, I pursued a path in Youth and Community Work (BA) and also became a mental health and learning disability nurse. But it was a personal moment that truly ignited my passion.
When I noticed my own son's speech delay, I dove headfirst into the world of intensive speech and language therapies.

That experience not only led to a change in my career but also to a deeper understanding of my son's condition (speech delay not Autism), which was eventually identified as a part of the autism spectrum disorder. I'm immensely proud to share that he graduated from university with first-class honors at the age of 21 and is now working as an investment analyst within media planning and buying.
These personal experiences, along with my own childhood story, have driven me to become a passionate advocate for children with Autism on a global scale. My mission is to enhance the quality of life for children with Autism, particularly those facing economic challenges and social stigma, not only in the UK but also within the BAME community on a global scale.

I've dedicated myself to extensive volunteer work within the community, from hospitals to schools and community outreach programs. In 2018, I established 'Autism Gifted Hands,' a private company providing crucial outreach services for children with Autism through sensory play and interventions. It's an honor to have received awards, including the 'Research, Education and Workforce Development Award' and the 'Securing an Improved Patient Experience Award' from the Greenwich Teaching Primary Care Trust.
My journey continues with an unwavering commitment to raising awareness, fundraising, and empowering children with Autism through education, with the ultimate goal of helping them reach their full potential in life.

Thank you for being a part of this incredible journey!
