Subject: Appeal for Wound Dressing Kits – WCC Kush Drug Wound Care Pilot Project 2026
18th August 2026
Dear Sir/Madam,
I am writing on behalf of World Changing Centre (WCC) to respectfully appeal for the donation of wound dressing kits in support of our Kush Drug Wound Care Pilot Project 2026 in Sierra Leone.
Kush is a highly addictive and devastating synthetic drug that is currently affecting and claiming the lives of many young people in Sierra Leone. It is typically composed of dried plant material sprayed with synthetic cannabinoids and extremely potent synthetic opioids, such as nitazenes, which are often stronger than fentanyl. Prolonged use causes severe physical deterioration, including chronic wounds, infections, and life-threatening complications.
In response to this crisis, World Changing Centre will be implementing a community-based wound care pilot project throughout 2026/2027. The project will be delivered through outreach activities led by trained volunteers, doctors, nurses, and community leaders. Kush victims will receive basic wound care support and will be signposted to hospitals for further medical treatment and medication where required.
We are kindly requesting wound care kits and related supplies from manufacturers, hospitals, medical centres, business owners, and individuals. We are seeking donations that can provide a six-month to one-year supply, with our final shipping date set for 30 November 2026.
World Changing Centre is a UK-registered charity (Charity No. 1136070) and a U.S. registered 501(c)(3) organisation (EIN: 98-1290328), also registered as a national NGO in Sierra Leone (NNGO/642). We work in close partnership with local schools, organisations, and communities to improve access to clean drinking water, healthcare, sanitation, and support services for underprivileged children, street-working youth, and victims of Kush drug abuse, HIV, and AIDS.
Our work is focused primarily in Western Area Rural District, among the poorest regions in Sierra Leone. In recent months, we have received an increasing number of urgent requests from these communities—not only for water and sanitation support, but specifically for wound care resources for Kush victims.
We are therefore launching this appeal and would be deeply grateful for any items you are able to donate. Please feel free to contact us using the details provided to discuss immediate arrangements.
On behalf of the communities we serve, thank you in advance for your consideration and generosity. We sincerely look forward to hearing from you.(kindly see attached photos)
