I'm at Edinburgh Fringe hosting Q***r Diary: The night where Q***r folks read their REAL teenage diaries, adolescent poetry, early fanfiction (& other coming-of-age era writing).

While I'm here, I'm keen to chat to anyone who may be interested in bringing the project to new parts of the country/world.

We've had great audiences & a couple of lovely reviews, but understandably not much 'industry' in - it's Free Fringe at 23:45, so I get it! But I'd love to fit in more coffees with venues and/or fellow producers/community event organisers who might be up for booking us, or collaborating on bringing a unique LGBTQIA+ community event to your hometown.

Any mutuals got a contact to recommend? πŸ™

Q***r Diary can tour as part of a package alongside my hour-long solo show and/or a zine-making workshop, or pop up as its own event.

Ideal venues are: accessible, affordable, relaxed spaces, wherever you might find an open mic poetry/comedy night. It's worked in community/arts centres, cafes, pubs, festivals, from cosy 30-seaters to 160 cap auditorium. I'm also up for thinking outside the box. Anywhere with a mic & stand can work, as long as a Q***r crowd will feel at home there!

Description:
A throwback to our last Q***r Diary and School Disco afterparty.
1-4: Readers on the mic under stage lights, Beth in a Nirvana t-shirt & black lipstick, Lucia smiling in a pink jumpsuit with a smiley and sad face alternating pattern, Simon in a black blazer reading from a blue notebook, Amandeep in check trousers and a pink top reading and cringing whilst giving a thumbs-up.
5-6: Rows of audience members under pink lights, open-mouth laughing and gasping at the readers revelations.
7-10: People dancing after the show, under disco lights, in colourful clothes, blurry with the motion of carefree boogying. They have a backwards cap, a pint, a floral shirt, rolled sleeves, retro-print trousers, chunky chain jewellery, a crop top.

"The rip-roaring playlist continues as chairs are cleared away so the dancing can begin… as awkward and beautifully careless as it might have been at school. It’s the q***r school disco young people deserve but don’t always get…. A space to look back on our formative years with kindness and laughter." - β˜…β˜…β˜…β˜…β˜… The Reviews Hub

Video description:
A spinning multicoloured disco ball animation. Over it appears typed purple text in the style of a 90s word processor, says: what if you could re-do your end-of-term disco without the teenage awkwardness in a room full of friendly q***r folks? Then the words Q***r Diary in pink handwriting writing slide in with a bunch of photos of folks smiling & cringing while reading their diaries, alongside our logo (a rainbow bursting from an open book). More text gives the information for the night, the same as in this post
