I'm at Edinburgh Fringe hosting Q***r Diary: The night where Q***r folks read their REAL teenage diaries, adolescent poetry, early fanfiction (& other coming-of-age era writing).
While I'm here, I'm keen to chat to anyone who may be interested in bringing the project to new parts of the country/world.
We've had great audiences & a couple of lovely reviews, but understandably not much 'industry' in - it's Free Fringe at 23:45, so I get it! But I'd love to fit in more coffees with venues and/or fellow producers/community event organisers who might be up for booking us, or collaborating on bringing a unique LGBTQIA+ community event to your hometown.
Any mutuals got a contact to recommend? π
Q***r Diary can tour as part of a package alongside my hour-long solo show and/or a zine-making workshop, or pop up as its own event.
Ideal venues are: accessible, affordable, relaxed spaces, wherever you might find an open mic poetry/comedy night. It's worked in community/arts centres, cafes, pubs, festivals, from cosy 30-seaters to 160 cap auditorium. I'm also up for thinking outside the box. Anywhere with a mic & stand can work, as long as a Q***r crowd will feel at home there!
