On this day, the Battle of Bosworth was fought... and the reign of King Richard III, the last Plantagenet, came to a quick, brutal end. ⚔️

It was the forensic expertise of Professor Sarah Hainsworth that helped reveal, through analysing Richard's skeleton, exactly how he died in battle.

In her Gresham College lecture, she takes us through this forensic analysis: what computed and micro-computed tomography reveal about his injuries, his probable cause of death, and how well the findings align with the historical record.

Is the HIV pandemic over? 🩸

Can we end malaria? 🦟

This year at Gresham College, our Professor of Physic Matt Higgins will deliver a series of lectures highlighting amazing medicines which changed humanity, from antibiotics and painkillers to weight-loss treatments.

Each lecture explores the history of the first of each of these medicines, discovering what the world was like before it, living the story of its discovery and highlighting the impact it made.
