We are the charity who love and look after Hampton Court Palace, Kensington Palace, the Tower of London, the Banqueting House, Kew Palace, and Hillsborough Castle and Gardens. The history we share on our social media channels is rooted in rigorous research conducted by our team of professional historians and curators. We tell the stories of the monarchs you know and the lives you don’t. We ask that people commenting on our social media posts do so in an appropriate manner that is respectful of others commenting and of those who work with and for us. We ask that comments are not offensive, threatening, disruptive, inappropriate, off-topic, spamming or commercial in nature. We also ask that comments do not focus on other peoples’ appearance (either positive or negative), unless it’s specific to the topic of a post. Time for Kew Palace to hibernate for the winter…😴

The smallest royal palace has had a busy season welcoming visitors, but now it's time to close the doors until next year 🍁 Over the next few months, work continues behind the scenes as our teams care for and conserve the palace 🧹

We were feeling dramatic... 🎭

This is Edward I's bedchamber at the Tower of London, recreated with magnificent furnishings and crackling fires. The influential Eleanor of Castile would have had a huge impact on how these spaces were decorated.

The Medieval Palace at the Tower shares an insight into life in Medieval London during the 1200s. Kings and queens, like Henry III and Eleanor of Provence, and their households lived and worked in these spaces during this crucial period of the Tower's history. 🏰

An unexpected piece of London's history ✨

The Palace of Whitehall was once the largest palace in Europe, but most of it was destroyed by fire in 1698 🔥 Today, only the Banqueting House survives with the breathtaking Rubens ceiling, commissioned by Charles I in 1629!
