MEET NUGGET, AKA MR. FLUFFY BOTTOM 🖤🤍

Nugget is a gorgeous 7–9 month old boy who is quite simply as sweet as they come. And yes, that fluffy bottom is every bit as adorable in person!

Nugget was found roaming a busy, dangerous road where he had absolutely no business being. We searched for weeks for his family, but he wasn’t microchipped and sadly, no one came looking for him. It eventually became clear that he had been abandoned.

Thankfully, Nugget was spotted and rescued quickly, before the Dubai heat or the dangers of the streets could take their toll. Now, he’s making up for lost time with all the things a young cat should have: love, sunshine, playtime, good food and plenty of cuddles.

Nugget is the definition of a lap cat. The moment he sees you, there’s a good chance he’ll plop himself down and expect attention. He loves belly rubs, cuddles and being close to his people.

He’s also a serious sun worshipper and will happily hunt down the perfect patch of sunlight before settling himself right in the middle of it. ☀️

Being a young boy, Nugget has plenty of playful kitten energy, but he also has a gentle, affectionate side and is perfectly happy entertaining himself when he wants some quiet time.

Most of all, Nugget is just a lovely little boy who deserves a home where he will be adored for the rest of his life.

WORLD, MEET TIGER 🩶🐾

Tiger is a sweet, gentle and sensitive boy who will be almost 4 this December. And just look at that face and those stunning silver markings!

Two years ago, Tiger was rescued from a hoarding situation, where he had been living in a small studio apartment with around 40 other cats. He was incredibly frightened and overwhelmed, and it took a long time for him to trust the person who saved him. He didn’t even meow for almost an entire year.

But with patience, love and consistency, Tiger slowly blossomed. 🩶

Today, he is an affectionate and increasingly confident boy who absolutely adores other cats and actively seeks out feline company. He also loves his humans and can often be found curled up beside you or lovingly rubbing around your feet.

Tiger is still a sensitive soul, so he needs a peaceful home where he can settle at his own pace. He has lived with calm, gentle dogs and done well, but a very excitable dog was more difficult for him. A calm, respectful canine companion could therefore be considered.

And there is one thing that makes Tiger a little different…

Tiger genuinely loves being outdoors. 🌿

We are looking for a home with a secure, cat-safe garden or secure catio where he can safely enjoy the outdoors. This is one of the rare occasions where we are specifically looking for outdoor access because it is something Tiger genuinely enjoys and benefits from.

After everything Tiger has been through, we want his next chapter to be filled with love, security and happiness. He deserves a home where he can simply be Tiger, knowing he is safe and cherished.

SMUDGE NEEDS YOUR HELP 💔

Little Smudge is just 4 months old — and a few days ago, his life suddenly changed.

After coming into our care from the South London colony, Smudge became unwell and then suffered a seizure. He was rushed to the vets, where he had blood tests, IV fluids and further investigations.

Just when we thought he was improving, he suddenly appeared to lose his sight. He was walking into furniture and bumping into things, and we knew something was seriously wrong.

After further investigation and consultation with specialists, we reached the devastating diagnosis:

Smudge has neurological FIP.

FIP treatment is intensive and he needs a full 84-day course, with his medication adjusted as he grows.

We have already spent over £1,000 on Smudge's emergency veterinary care. His FIP treatment will cost around £1,000–£1,500 more over the coming months.

Three more returns. 💔

Zazu, Teo and Archie are our 10th, 11th and 12th returns in the span of a year. A number we have never experienced before, with most involving relatively recent adoptions.

Zazu & Teo are 2025 rescues, and Archie is a 2024 rescue.

Zazu & Teo flew from the UAE to the UK in June 2026 specifically for their adoption. Their adoption falling through was particularly upsetting because they were never given a fair chance. Crucial information that should have been disclosed beforehand was withheld, information that could have changed the decision to proceed with the adoption in the first place.

When they were being collected from foster, they were understandably stressed. They are shy and nervous cats who needed time, patience and understanding. Instead, the decision was made almost immediately that they were not the right cats, and we were accused of misrepresenting them.

Those who know ECM know that this is simply not how we operate.

And most recently, Archie. Rescued in December 2024 and adopted in September 2025, he has now also found himself back in foster care after his adoption fell through.

We understand that circumstances can change, but adoption is a commitment. Please be transparent, think things through properly, and understand that a stressed rescue cat needs time, patience and a genuine chance.

These are not parcels being returned. They are cats who deserve stability.

We’ll be sharing Zazu, Teo and Archie’s profiles again soon. All three are looking for homes once more.

And just like that, The Cat Show Live 2026 is a wrap! 🐾💙

For the second year running, we had the absolute pleasure of bringing ECM to The Cat Show Live 🐱 at NEC Birmingham, and what a day it was.

It was so lovely to be back, surrounded by fellow cat lovers, rescue supporters and people who share our passion for giving cats the lives they deserve. From our adoption wall and CATalogue to our brand-new ECM merchandise and tombola, we loved seeing so many of you stop by, chat with our team and learn more about the cats behind our rescue.

Events like this give rescue organisations something incredibly valuable: a chance to put our cats and their stories in front of people who may never have discovered them otherwise. Every conversation, every new supporter, every donation, every raffle ticket and every purchase helps us continue the work. 🥹💙

And of course, we couldn’t resist a little Bagpuss magic! 🐱✨ We were so happy to be part of the fun and to support the wonderful work of Hospices of Hope too.

A huge thank you to everyone who came to see us, supported our stand, entered our tombola, bought our merch and took the time to hear about ECM and the cats we rescue.

And finally, thank you The Cat Show Live 🐱 and The Nations Experience Capital for welcoming us back for another year and for giving rescues and charities such a brilliant platform.

South London Colony Update 📣🐾

Another SIX cats have made it off the streets… 🩵

Today, we continued Phase 2 of our South London Colony project, with another six cats safely picked up to begin the next chapter of their lives.

Just like the first group, they are receiving the veterinary care they need, including spay/neutering, vaccinations, microchipping and blood testing. 🏥🐾

And once again, they won’t be going back to the colony afterwards…

All six are going into foster homes. 🏡

That means 12 cats have now been safely removed from the streets since Phase 2 began. Twelve cats who now have a safe place to sleep, proper veterinary care, and the chance to experience life in a home while they prepare for their forever families. 🥹🩵

A huge thank you to Blue Cross UK for supporting us with their veterinary care, to our amazing foster carers for opening their homes, and to every volunteer and supporter helping behind the scenes.

This is what foster space can do.

One available home = one more cat we can safely remove from the colony.

And today, that meant another SIX. ✨

MEET MAMA MARGE 🖤

Mama Marge is a beautiful 1–2-year-old girl with the blackest, shiniest coat and the most gorgeous amber eyes.

She was found abandoned at one of our feeding spots with her three kittens. Poor Mama Marge was confused and panicked. She didn’t know the area at all and was desperately trying to keep her babies safe and fed, while navigating an unfamiliar place with no idea where she could find food, shelter or safety for them.

Thankfully, she and her babies were found before they had to face the harshness of life on the streets alone.

Since being rescued, Mama Marge has been incredibly sweet and gentle. She has been a wonderful, devoted mama to her kittens and has been so grateful to finally be safe, cared for and out of the scorching Dubai heat.

When we found her, Mama Marge was in good health with a beautiful, healthy, shiny coat. This makes us believe that she was likely cared for until the time she was abandoned — making it even harder to understand how this lovely girl ended up needing a rescue.

She is also learning that humans can be kind. She has been wonderfully gentle with her rescuer and is slowly discovering how lovely it feels to receive affection and love.

Now that her babies are safe, it’s Mama Marge’s turn to find someone who will make sure she is loved, cherished and never abandoned again.

We believe Mama Marge would be happiest as the only queen of her forever home, where she can enjoy all the love and attention she deserves.
