This is Lily 🩵

Lily was found on the streets as a tiny kitten - starving, lethargic, and relentlessly bullied by other strays. She was rescued by a kind-hearted woman visiting the UAE, who refused to leave her behind to suffer. Lily was given a second chance, eventually making her way to the UK and into what was believed to be her forever home.

Sadly, despite best efforts, Lily has struggled to settle fully due to ongoing difficulties with one of the resident cats in the household. After careful trials, and a great deal of emotional consideration, it has become clear that Lily would truly flourish best in a home where she can be the queen bee she was always meant to be.

Lily is a confident girl full of personality - independent, curious and endlessly entertaining. She loves exploring and would thrive in a calm home with safe outdoor access where she can enjoy her freedom and rule her own little queendom. While she likes her space, she’s also incredibly affectionate with her people and once you have her trust, she will make the cosiest of companions.

Lily would be happiest as the only cat in an adult-only home, or one with older children. If you think you could be her person, reach out to us via DM or fill an application below 🙏🩵

Time is running out for Tinky Winky to get his MRI.

This is an estimate of the cost and is staggering enough, but doesn’t touch on the veterinary bill we have run up so far trying to get to the bottom of his health issue.

Please help us raise the funds needed to get him back the full use of his legs… and back on the next flight to his forever home 🩵

Felix is a beautiful young boy who was found as a frightened kitten alone outside a school in Abu Dhabi in 2024. From the very beginning, his affectionate and loving nature was clear, he quickly showed what a sweet and people-oriented cat he is.

Felix is now looking for a new home due to challenges in his current environment with another cat, which has led to increased anxiety for him. He would thrive best as the only pet in a calm, stable home where he can fully relax and feel secure again.
He is a wonderfully affectionate companion with the sweetest face and a loud, comforting purr. Felix adores human company and loves nothing more than curling up beside you on the sofa or settling in close at bedtime. He is also very chatty and will happily “talk” to his people, especially when it’s time for food.
Playful and engaging, Felix enjoys interactive play with soft toys, particularly catnip-filled items and furry toy mice. He also loves having a cat tree or hammock where he can lounge, observe his surroundings, and feel part of the home.

With the right quiet, loving environment and no other animals, Felix will truly blossom into the confident, affectionate companion he is meant to be. Could that home he yours? Reach out to us via DM or fill an application below 🙏🩵

One Week Without Scrumpy 🧡

It has been one week since Scrumpy, the beloved cat of Every Cat Matters’ founder, Freya Page, crossed the rainbow bridge.

Today is an especially difficult day, as Freya says her final goodbye while Scrumpy is laid to rest. In a small but beautiful comfort, today has been a bright, sunny day, exactly the kind of warmth Scrumpy loved most.

Freya welcomed Scrumpy on 4th June 2010, the same day she got the keys to her first home. Before there was even furniture, Scrumpy and her sister had everything they needed. From the very beginning, Scrumpy was not just a pet, but a constant companion through every chapter of Freya’s adult life.

Scrumpy was the gentlest soul, calm, loving, and truly the perfect cat. She never caused a single issue and brought comfort through every heartbreak and every success. She adored warmth, whether curled by radiators, on chairs, or in her favourite sunny spots.

For nearly 16 years, Scrumpy stood by Freya through it all.

Sadly, Scrumpy developed aggressive lymphoma in a devastatingly short space of time, and Freya made the selfless decision to spare her further suffering.

Though today marks a heartbreaking farewell, Scrumpy’s memory will live on forever. She was more than a cat, she was family, comfort, and unconditional love.

Today, we honour Scrumpy’s beautiful life and send all our love and strength to Freya.

Please take a moment to share your love and support in the comments.

Meet sweet Tufani 🩵

This young kitten was first spotted at a feeding station when she suddenly burst out from the bushes and ran straight for the food. She was completely alone - with no mother or siblings nearby - and since the area is managed under a TNR program, it wasn’t clear to her rescuer where she could possibly have come from... only that she needed shelter if she was going to survive the storm that was forecast. So give her shelter she did.

In foster care, Tufani was initially shy and cautious, taking time to feel comfortable in her new environment… but she has blossomed beautifully and now actively seeks affection, approaching for soft pets and showing her appreciation with the most delicate, heart-melting purr.

She’s mostly a calm and quiet girl, happy to simply curl up and observe. The only time her energy really comes out is around food (when she becomes VERY enthusiastic) and during play, where she can suddenly activate full kitten mode - jumping around with her friends, high-spirited and a little spicy.

Tufani is a soft-hearted, affectionate little soul with a playful spark, ready for a loving home where she can continue to grow in confidence and show her full personality. Could that home be yours? Reach out to us via DM or fill an application below 🙏🩵

This is Nova - and her story is one of resilience 🩵

Born to a senior stray cat who didn't have enough milk to feed her and her siblings, Nova lost her mother and two of her siblings far too early - with her and her little brother Beau being the only survivors of those fragile first weeks.

When Nova was found, she was severely underweight and very unwell - battling a heavy flu, herpes virus, a stubborn eye infection and signs of neurological weakness. Her left eye was underdeveloped and for a time she struggled even with basic comfort and appetite, often refusing to eat and requiring intensive care just to stabilize.

Her recovery was slow, but Nova showed something remarkable: resilience. Around a month into her journey, she began to respond… and little by little, she came back to life.

Today, Nova is a bright, playful and deeply affectionate young girl. She manages her world beautifully through her right eye - allowing nothing to hold her back from living a full, happy life. Her left eye remains underdeveloped, but it is part of her story, not a limitation.

Nova is full of personality. She has the sweetest little voice, a curious mind and a love of playtime that is nothing short of infectious. Her loving nature that shines through in everything she does and she bonds deeply, showing affection in the most heart-melting ways (including a beautiful habit of grooming both her humans and feline friends). It is no surprise that she has already captured countless hearts, in her very short life.

Nova is not just a survivor; she’s a reminder of how strong, loving and joyful a little soul can become after the hardest beginnings. If you think you could be the next chapter in her story, reach out to us via DM or fill an application below 🙏🩵

Tinky Winky’s forever home is still within reach, if he can only get his paws on an MRI 🙏

The vets have no idea why Tinky Winky suddenly lost coordination in his back legs and gained an agonising stiffness in his spine. It could be a neurological issue, it could be a spinal one - the only way to know is through an MRI… and the only way to get one is with your help.

We have maxed out our funds on getting Tinky Winky the initial diagnostic tests we had hoped would give us answers. Yet we are no closer to knowing what we are dealing with or how to prevent it from impacting on his future.

Tinky Winky has spent his short life fighting for his survival - and now that he has finally got a forever home lined up alongside his brother Po, we need your help to make sure he gets there. Please donate what you can, you’re his only hope 🙏

Meet our newly matched duo: Jerry & Hoku ✨

Sometimes rescue journeys take unexpected turns. While both boys were originally paired with other companions, time, healing and careful observation showed us that their best match was actually each other.

Since coming together in foster care, Jerry and Hoku have been thriving — building a playful, affectionate bond that feels meant to be.

Jerry was found as a tiny kitten cuddled up to a junior cat outside a vet clinic. Their connection was touching, but rooted in his need for safety. Once rescued, Jerry gained confidence and blossomed into the joyful, loving cat he is today.

Hoku was rescued in 2023 as a vulnerable kitten in a park, suffering from an a**l prolapse. After surgery and dedicated care, he recovered beautifully, but over time it became clear he needed a companion better suited to his personality.

Jerry is a goofy, endlessly affectionate lap cat with wild kitten energy - zoomies, chatter, constant purring and even snuggling so enthusiastic he may even groom your hair. Hoku can be a little anxious, but he’s also a huge cuddle bug with classic orange-cat charm - loving wand toys, dramatic leaps, burrowing under blankets and curling up with his human.

Together, they’re a perfectly balanced duo: playful, loving and endlessly entertaining.

📢 BIG NEWS FOR RENTERS: THE RULES JUST CHANGED! 🐾

As of today, the Renters’ Rights Act is officially law. This is a massive win for anyone in rented housing who dreams of adopting a rescue cat.

So, what has changed for you?

🚫 No More Blanket Bans: Landlords can’t just say “no pets” in a contract anymore.

📝 The Right to Request: You now have a legal right to ask for a pet, and landlords must have a very good reason to refuse.

⏳ 28-Day Deadline: Once you ask, your landlord has 28 days to give you a decision. No more being left in limbo!

🛡️ Insurance: Landlords can ask you to have pet damage insurance, giving everyone peace of mind.

Since we specialise in indoor-only cats and cat-proofed spaces, our rescues are the perfect "low-impact" tenants. They don't roam, they don't bother neighbours, and they are happy staying safe inside! 🏠✨

Ready to find your new best friend? 🐈‍⬛
If you’ve been waiting for the perfect opportunity to open your home to a rescue cat, but were worried that your landlord would push back, you now have the law on your side.

ADOPTED

Introducing Zaatar 🖤 🌱

Like so many other pet cats being abandoned in these uncertain times, Zaatar was found wandering the streets with a glossy coat and trusting nature that made it obvious he had been recently turned out from his home and left to fend for himself.

A 4–5 month old Scottish Fold boy with the gentlest soul, he is incredibly affectionate (always seeking out cuddles) and has that perfect balance of sweetness and playful kitten energy. One of his most adorable features is his huge paws - we think he is going to grow into a wonderfully big boy 🐾

Zaatar loves playing hide and seek, is endlessly curious (especially about water) and enjoys being carried around. He gets on well with other cats with proper introductions and has a gentle temperament that would suit a home with children.

It’s hard to understand how such a loving little boy ended up being cast out so cruelly. If you feel you could offer Zaatar the safe, loving forever home he deserves - Reach out to us via DM or fill an application below 🙏🩵

We need to talk about something honestly.

Every day, we receive messages about cats that need help. Some are urgent, some are heartbreaking, and every single one matters. And we understand why people reach out to us - because you care.

But what many people don’t see is what happens behind the scenes.

Rescuing a cat isn’t just sharing a post or finding a space. It can take weeks or months to organise fosters, fund medical care, arrange transport, and find the right home, especially for cats with additional needs like FIV or FeLV.

Lately, we’re seeing more and more situations where people come to us at the last minute, or send us photos and videos expecting us to “take it from here.”

We’re also increasingly being contacted on personal numbers or individual accounts, instead of through our official channels.

And the truth is, it’s becoming overwhelming.

Not because we don’t care. But because we care so much, and we simply don’t have the capacity to say yes to everything. Every time we can’t help, it stays with us. It’s affecting us emotionally, mentally, and physically more than we can put into words.

To help us manage and respond effectively as a team, all requests need to come through our official channels - our ECM WhatsApp, email, or website. Messaging individual rescuers directly isn’t a reliable way to get help, and it adds to the emotional strain behind the scenes.

So we need to gently reset expectations.

If you come to us for help, please come as part of the solution too.

That might look like:
🐾 Fostering the cat while we help find a home
🐾 Covering or contributing to vet care or relocation
🐾 Trapping/taking the cat for an initial vet check
🐾 Giving us time to plan, not days or weeks

Even small offers make a huge difference.

We are always here to support, advise, and do everything we can, but we cannot carry every case alone.

This isn’t about blame. It’s about making rescue sustainable, so we can keep helping cats who need us most.

Thank you to everyone who continues to support us, stand with us, and work with us 💛
