Tender has responded to the government's new misogyny taskforce.

Susie McDonald, CEO of Tender, says:

'We welcome targeted steps to stop misogyny at its roots, but this taskforce cannot be yet another talking shop.

'Misogyny is an overwhelming influence on young people. Over 40% of schools cited misogyny as a major concern when booking our projects, with boys even in primary schools exhibiting misogynistic attitudes towards peers and teachers. Nearly a quarter of female teachers recently reported being subjected to misogyny from a pupil (NASUWT).

'All young people need safe spaces where they can reflect on their views. They need trained and qualified staff in every single school, supporting them to challenge dangerous attitudes and develop the skills and confidence to pursue respectful, equal relationships. Schools need support from specialist organisations to embed a culture of equality, respect and healthy relationships across the whole school - not just discrete action on misogyny.

'The government has prioritised prevention, but now we need to see this in action.'
