The Simon Community

The Simon Community Living And Working With London's Street Homeless The Community was founded by Anton Wallich-Clifford in 1963 and is a registered charity.

Anton's vision for Simon was to reach out to the homeless and rootless, to be a movement of concern and, by working as a community, to offer a radical alternative to institutional care. We still follow that philosophy today, offering a variety of services for rough sleepers and other homeless people.

It was Rudy's Gotcha Day on Friday - he's been with us now for 1 whole year ! He has put in an excellent shift, successfully completing many good naps, training us up on proper belly scratching (we are now all fully certified), and delivering on lots of silliness and cuddle sessions. We love you Rudy! 🐾🦴

Thanks to for their investigative work into the reality of SWEP provision across the country. As climate change brings increasingly extreme weather to the UK, this reporting is crucial in order to bring to light and address how services are failing rough sleepers, and offers critical data into how policies can be improved to save lives.

Read about the findings here:
https://museumofhomelessness.org/news/new-findings-show-homeless-people-continue-to-be-excluded-from-life-saving-provision-during-extreme-weather

And the write up in the Big Issue: https://www.bigissue.com/news/housing/homeless-sit-ups-extreme-weather-swep-moh

Councils are giving homeless people chairs instead of beds during extreme weather, the Museum of Homelessness has found.
