Kentish Town foodbank

Kentish Town foodbank The Chalk Farm foodbank serves people in north-west Camden who find themselves unable to put food on

Today in Camden there are families struggling to put food on the table. For people on low incomes, a sudden crisis - redundancy, benefit delay or even an unexpected bill - can mean going hungry. Every day parents skip meals to feed their children and people are forced to choose between paying the rent and eating. Chalk Farm foodbank provides emergency food and support to local people in crisis.

When you have to choose between buying dinner or buying tampons, that is period poverty.

For many neighbors in our community, this is a monthly reality. Period products are not luxury items—they are essential healthcare. Yet, they are rarely donated as often as food.

At Kentish Town Foodbank, we believe everyone deserves dignity.

We stock sanitary pads, tampons, and incontinence pads to ensure no one has to compromise their health or skip school and work just because of their period.

👉 How you can help today:

Donate items: Drop off unopened boxes of pads or tampons at our main collection points.

Donate funds: Financial gifts allow us to buy these items in bulk.

Spread the word: Share this post to break the stigma around menstruation.

Let’s end period poverty together.
