Our thoughts are with the people of Iran at this critical time. We have received updates from our centres confirming that everyone is currently safe, and we continue to monitor the situation closely. Our hearts are also with those of you who have loved ones in Iran during this difficult period.

Since launching our Food Package Appeal in February, we have been deeply moved by the generosity of our community. To date, more than 1,900 packages have been distributed, reaching approximately 11,400 people across 25 provinces. Each one contains essential food and hygiene items, helping households cover their most basic needs during a time of severe economic hardship.

We are working as fast as possible to purchase and distribute supplies while stocks remain available. The programme is ongoing, and PKCF representatives in Iran continue to identify and support families most in need.

What was originally an initiative to help families celebrate Nowruz with dignity has now evolved into a crisis aid project. Every single donation makes a meaningful impact in Iran today, and we are very grateful for your support. If you would still like to contribute to the Appeal, please use our website to do so.

We remain committed to supporting Iranian families through this difficult time. Our gratitude goes to all our supporters for placing trust in us. May the message and symbolism of Nowruz bring comfort and hope into every home.

With gratitude,
PKCF

Just over 20 years ago PKCF built the Primary School for Jafarabad Village in Qazvin, northern Iran. Since then, the community has grown and it became increasingly difficult to house all the youngest children at the school. Together with the community, we at the Foundation searched for a solution. With the support of the Education Centre and cooperation of the local Council, the Foundation's representative was able to get permission for the use of a nearby building. With the help of local mothers and a modest contribution by PKCF, the space was renovated in time to receive these eager, bright smiles at the start of the new academic year. Thus, Jafarabad's new Kindergarten opened its doors last month!

We are so pleased to be able to help the village's youngest learners take their first steps towards a bright future. Nothing gives us greater joy than seeing these beautiful smiles - may they always shine!✨🙏🧿

The autumn equinox marked the commencement of the new academic year in Iran. Students of all ages started a new term coinciding with the start of the Iranian month of Mehr (meaning friendship, kindness and love). We share with you a few images of our children from Bachehaye Ma orphanage in Kerman at the start of the new school year.

Our CEO's message : 'Seeing the bright smiles and hopeful faces fills us with pride and inspires us to work even harder to ensure that each of them has access to the kind of educational environment they deserve; one that nurtures their dreams and gives them every reason to believe in a bright future'.

The Popli Khalatbari Charitable Foundation cordially invites you to an evening of culture and comedy.

We are delighted to welcome back Arsalan Akhavan, by popular demand, for a captivating new performance inspired by the timeless love stories of the Shahnameh (Book of Kings). We are thrilled that Arsalan has created a special performance just for PKCF.

In this unique production, Arsalan continues his personal exploration of the Iranian epic Shahnameh by interweaving three of its most famous love stories (Zāl and Rudabeh, Rostam and Tahmineh, and Bijan & Manijeh). These, together with humorous experiences from Arsalan’s own life, will take us on a beautiful journey.

Join us for a memorable evening celebrating heritage, humour, and storytelling. For younger generations who may not have grown up knowing the Shahnameh, this will be an opportunity to learn from the rich literary heritage of Iran.

Date: Saturday 8th November 2025
Location: St. Peter’s Church, 119 Eaton Square, London SW1W 9AL
Reception: 5:00 - 6:00 pm
Performance: 6:00 – 7:00 pm

We are overjoyed for this young lady, Arezou, who's qualified as a solicitor. She joined the Bachehaye Ma family at the tender age of 8 and today stands as a qualified lawyer, with her life ahead of her. "It takes a village to raise a child" and we thank Roshanak & all the staff in Kerman, alongside our wonderful global supporters, for helping this child reach her wishes, her 'arezou'.

As the summer holidays are in their final weeks, we look back at the start of the season. Our 25th Annual Fundraising event took place back in early June. Such events are the cornerstone of our fundraising efforts for all the children we support. It was wonderful as always to share the night with our supporters and have a chance to thank everyone in person for their generosity. A lively auction and a warm evening (inspite of the weather!). Thank you to everyone for making the evening as enjoyable and successful as it was!

Enjoy the rest of the summer & see you again soon,

PKCF
