Ark We are an education charity based in the UK, which works to improve educational achievement in areas of disadvantage.

We’re a charity transforming lives through education with a network of 39 non-selective academy schools and innovative ventures bringing benefits to the wider sector. We have two main activities: 1) we run a network of non-selective academy schools in areas of the greatest need; and 2) we incubate and scale innovative programmes, which we roll out beyond our network of schools for the benefit of t

eachers, pupils and the education system as a whole. Starting with one school in London in 2006, we have grown to 39 schools in Birmingham, Hastings, London and Portsmouth, educating more than 29,000 pupils and we have nearly 3,000 teaching staff. In addition to our network of schools, we also incubate, launch and scale ventures that have the aim of addressing a specific challenge in education and delivering widespread change across the sector. We have successfully worked on 12 Ventures, some of which are now medium-sized independent charities, while others are still incubated within Ark and continuing to grow and scale to sustainability.

Thanks to wonderful organisations like the Clore Duffield Foundation and The Raheem Sterling Foundation, students across the network have access to arts opportunities to develop their creativity - whether it is theatre, dance, music or the visual arts.

And last but not least, huge congratulations to Ark Tindal Primary Academy, Jo Watts and Nichola Laurence for being shortlisted in the National School Awards 2023 alongside a host of innovators and exceptional leaders! We’re so proud and can’t wait until the awards ceremony later this year.
