LOCSU supports Local Optical Committees across a spectrum of activities.

We aid LOCs in their work with local commissioners both during negotiation and delivery via support for the Primary Eyecare Companies.

A joint sector webinar will take place on 30 June, bringing together representatives from the College of Optometrists, LOCSU, ABDO, AOP and FODO to explore how primary care optometry can play a fuller role across the glaucoma pathway.

LOCSU have produced a trio of case studies describing community-based optometry delivered glaucoma monitoring pathways across three different LOCs.

The case studies detail services in Ashton, Leigh and Wigan (ALW), Norfolk and Waveney, and Newcastle (Northumberland, Tyne and Wear (NTW)), highlighting the workforce models in place.
