📣 Starting Out – money skills for real life 📣

Starting to manage your own money can feel overwhelming. That's why we've created Starting Out, a practical course designed to help young people build confidence with money and make informed financial decisions.

The course covers topics including:
✅ Understanding where your money goes
✅ Managing bills and everyday spending
✅ Making your money go further
✅ Saving and borrowing
✅ Handling financial pressure and money worries

Two editions are available:
⭐ Students' Edition for students aged 18+
⭐ Young Workers' Edition for 18-25 year olds in work, including apprentices

Developed by Crosslight Advice, Starting Out draws on years of experience delivering The Money Course and focuses on practical skills that can make a real difference in everyday life.

Our first online courses for both students and young workers will take place this autumn.

💛 What an incredible day of community, kindness and hope! 💛

Thank you to everyone who joined us for Move4Change at the weekend and to everyone who has supported our Aviva Community Fund crowdfunder so far.

We were delighted to welcome supporters, local residents and members of the Crosslight team for a fantastic 10km walk from St Paul's, Hammersmith to Chiswick and back. Together, we shared stories, laughter and encouragement before enjoying a well-earned cream tea. ☕🍰

Because of your generosity, we've now raised an amazing £24,237 towards our work supporting people across Hammersmith & Fulham. 🎉

We can't wait to see everyone tomorrow as we come together to support local people facing poverty and financial hardship across Hammersmith & Fulham.

Every day, Crosslight helps people navigate debt, financial difficulties and some of life's toughest challenges.

One of our Hammersmith clients, Niya, came to us after fleeing domestic abuse and experiencing severe financial hardship, isolation and declining health. Reflecting on her journey, she said:

Across Hammersmith & Fulham, people are facing debt, poverty and financial hardship. Every day, Crosslight provides free debt advice, advocacy and practical support to help people regain control of their finances and rebuild their confidence.

Annabelle knows first-hand how life-changing that support can be:

One of our clients, E and her 7 year old daughter, became refugees in January 2025 and have since lived in a number of temporary accommodations. She works part-time in a school catering department on minimum wage but is only paid during term time, leaving her with no income over the Summer holidays. She is worried about being unable to afford an essential school uniform for September as well as warm winter clothing for her daughter. Your donations will help ensure her child is warm, prepared for school and able to thrive.
