Action Asylum volunteer Ahmed Nadi filmed this brilliant video of our tree planting day at a beaver sanctuary near St Asaph, Denbighshire.
Thirty Action Asylum volunteers from Liverpool joined teams from North Wales Wildlife Trust and local nature partners for a full day of habitat restoration, part of the beaver reintroduction project in the area. They were also joined by staff from the government’s Community Cohesion unit, who rolled up their sleeves and got stuck in with spades, tree guards and muddy boots. Together, 850 trees were planted in a single day — a small forest, and a huge step for nature recovery.
“It was a real eye-opener for me… learning about beavers for the first time and the crucial role they play to support and protect our natural habitats,” said Queen Ekanem Essien from the Ministry of Housing, Communities & Local Government. “It was one of the best experiences I’ve had this year.”
This is what happens when communities come together for nature!

The return of better weather and the lighter evenings mean, the allotments, bike rides, park and trips are gaining momentum. Good news but finding the funds to sustain this is becoming harder.

One way to help is the new All Weathers Lottery where ALM has it's own page and for £1 a week, you could be in with the chance to win £25,000. For every £1 spent, 50% goes to ALM and it is a new way to help maintain the services used by over 3000 people every year. Thank you!
