Sussex Community Foundation

Sussex Community Foundation We bring inspirational people together to create the change Sussex needs. Together we’re helping to create a Sussex where people and communities thrive.

Philanthropists & investors, leaders in businesses & communities, volunteers & founders. We make it easy for Sussex people to give money to the local causes they want to support and ensure that those donations reach the people that need them. Since 2006, we've raised £22 million for Sussex communities. We've given over 3,000 grants totalling £23 million to over 1,500 charities and community groups

. Most of the grants we give are between £1,000 and £5,000 which make a big difference to the groups that receive them. We manage funds of money on behalf of Sussex philanthropists and are building a permanent endowment fund that currently stands at £24 million that will benefit Sussex people for generations to come.

🚲 Accessible rides for all 💛

For many people living with a disability or in care, getting outdoors isn’t always easy.

That’s where Pedal People Charity come in, offering accessible cycle rides on specially adapted trikes, helping people spend time outside and to reconnect with their community.

Polly, one of our Grants & Relationships Managers, recently joined them to celebrate their two new trikes, meaning even more people can now take part.

Because everyone deserves the chance to get outside, stay active and feel included.

This global movement brings together organisations committed to giving at least 1% of their annual revenue to environmental causes.

For us, it’s about supporting local charities and community groups working to protect our environment and build a more sustainable future for Sussex.

When children are waiting years for mental health support, families are often left carrying the pressure alone.

In our latest guest blog, Hansa Raja from Holding Space shares why supporting parents and carers is key to improving children’s mental health.

💛 Because when parents feel supported, children are better supported too.

It’s a powerful reminder that early help must include the whole family.
