Now An award-winning non-profit social enterprise based in East Sussex. Helping build prosperous futures for people & planet. Investing in local community projects!

Actively finding ways to shape local green habits through recycling, reuse & repair. Now! was established in Lewes in East Sussex in 1995. Throughout our history we have built a strong foundation as a non-profit social enterprise. Our drive and mission is to build prosperous and sustainable futures for people and planet. We're committed to maximising our social, economic and environmental impact.

We achieve this by increasing public accessibility to quality household essentials, greener waste management techniques and investment in local community projects. We want to lead social change and are driven to improve the quality of life for people in our local communities. We truly care about the environment and consciously take action in ways to shape local green habits through recycling, reuse and repair. Our mission began back in 1995 as a volunteer-run milk float peddling the streets of Lewes collected and redistributed unwanted furniture and electrical household items to local residents most in need. Shortly after, Furniture Now! was formed as an independent non-profit. Furniture Now! is Now!’s oldest and most recognised service. consists of retail stores that the general public are able to visit. These stores are located in Lewes, Eastbourne and Hailsham, all supplying a range of new and second-hand furniture, electrical appliances and homeware items. replenishes inventory via a core network of suppliers and a free household collection service conducted across Sussex, 5 days a week. works with local partners who include Southern Housing Group, East Sussex County Council, Sussex NHS Foundation Trust and East Sussex Citizens Advice. Our Sustainable Communities Fund launched in early 2022. It supports community based projects that are based in East Sussex which uses repair, reuse, recycling or upcycling activities. The grants range from £500 up to £5,000. These have been created to redistribute annual profits generate by our Furniture Now! retail stores back into the local community in East Sussex. is an associate of the Reuse Network and represents the UK as a member of the Reuse and Recycling European Social Enterprise group.

Let's address an urgent issue… Period Poverty

Period poverty is a harsh reality for far too many women and girls around the world. It's not just about a lack of access to menstrual products; it's about inequality, dignity, and basic human rights.

Why should we all be in this fight together?

◼Empowerment - Help women pursue their dreams
◼Break Stigmas - Normalise period conversations

We can ALL help make a difference!
💖 Donate menstrual products to local food banks and charities
📢 Raise awareness on social media
🤝 Support organisations working to end period poverty
🌐 Educate yourself and others about the issue

We’re delighted to announce that, from 8 March 2024 we will be offering FREE sanitary products at all of our Furniture Now! stores.

We strongly believe in supporting women's rights and equality every day, however on International Women's Day, we're taking it a step further.

We're proud to join forces with Hey Girls , a company that donates 100% of its profits to fund initiatives that fight period poverty. For every sanitary product we purchase from them, they donate one, helping girls and women in need across the country.

With your support in spreading the word, we're working towards a future where period poverty becomes a thing of the past. Let's ensure every woman and girl has access to the sanitary products they need with dignity and respect 🧡
