We're looking forward to the Big Lunch tomorrow! If you're a customer living in , Unity Homes & Enterprise is teaming up with local housing associations and community partners to bring Chapeltown a day full of food, fun and connection. 🍰🍲🍪

There will be stalls showcasing what Chapeltown community services have to offer, LDM basketball will be there to entertain the kids, plus sunflower planting and crafts.

We’ll be there too, giving you the chance to chat with us about housing support, repairs, anti‑social behaviour, and anything else you might need.

If you can, please bring a dish to share. It could be a homemade cake, your favourite savoury dish or fruit and snacks - whatever floats your boat!

We can't wait for The Big Lunch tomorrow -all Chapeltown community are welcome to bring a dish (any contribution big or small is welcome), share a lunch and find out what's going on in the area. There will be a DJ, Free Basketball coaching with LDM, stalls from community services in LS7 and most importantly, FOOD. And if the weather is rubbish? We'll be in the West Indian / African and Caribbean Centre next door. A Disabled Facilities Grant (DFG) is a UK government grant that helps fund essential home adaptations for disabled people.

From ramps and widened doorways to stairlifts and wet rooms, these changes can make a world of difference. Just ask Mrs Wagstaff, who was thrilled with her new mobility wet room!

Clare’s role as a technical surveyor, focuses specifically on repairs and maintenance issues that have been raised by solicitors – these are called disrepairs. 🛠️

Often, a customer will have raised an issue through a claims farmer rather than telling us directly, which means the repairs can take longer to resolve. Claims farmers are organisations that encourage customers to pursue compensation claims against their landlords. They generally promise big payouts, but customers rarely see that money.

Clare spends a lot of her time investigating disrepairs and looking at reports to send to and from solicitors. 📝

⚠️If you’re a customer and need a repair in your home, tell us as soon as you can so we can fix the issue. Reporting repairs directly to us as soon as you notice them is quicker and easier than using a claims farmer.
