We are proud to officially launch the Leeds Domestic Violence Service podcast, Finding Safety, with our very first episode now live! 🎙️

Finding Safety explores the realities and complexities of domestic violence and abuse through honest, informed conversations centred around hope, resilience and recovery.

In this debut episode, hosts Hannah and Chloe are joined by Refuge Team Leader Clare Sanderson to discuss the vital work of refuges managed by Leeds Women’s Aid and what life is like for residents. Clare also shares her powerful full-circle journey, from once being a refuge resident herself to now leading the team.

Recorded at Chapel FM, this episode is available now on Spotify, Apple Podcasts and the Chapel FM website. Find the links to listen, or learn more about Finding Safety, at: https://ldvs.uk/finding-safety-podcast/

The Voices Project impact has reached the Netherlands!

Dutch TV programme, Eenvandaag, interviewed Voices Project Lead, Nicola Marlow and victim-survivor Fran about work the project has done to promote the use of Clare’s Law in West Yorkshire.

The Domestic Violence Disclosure Scheme, also known as Clare’s Law, allows individuals to formally ask the police to check if their partner or ex-partner has a history of violent or abusive behaviour. It aims to help people make informed choices about their safety and relationships.

The government in the Netherlands has recently voted to introduce a law similar to Clare’s Law, and the Dutch television company approached Nicola after recognising the Voices Project as a leading example of successfully championing Clare’s Law in the UK.

It's amazing to see our work in West Yorkshire having an international impact.

The Voices Project took part in Cyber Abuse training.

This was the first session the Voices Project had organised for women victim/survivors, following their requests for access to training to help up-skill them.

The women found the Cyber Abuse session ran by West Yorkshire Police really useful. They now have a better understanding and are more confident of how to keep themselves safe on their devices and in the home.
