Do you support women who served? 💜

We’re pleased to be hosting a FREE training session in Hull as part of the Female Veterans Transformation Programme (FVTP).

The FVTP is a UK-wide initiative that has developed resources to help organisations better recognise, understand, and support female veterans. It is funded by NHS England, the Armed Forces Covenant Fund Trust (AFCFT), the Office for Veterans’ Affairs, and the Veterans Foundation.

The Female Veterans Toolkit, launched in November 2025, is an accessible, flexible resource designed for all organisations:

This session will be delivered by FVTP’s Comms & Engagement Officer, RAF Veteran and Invictus Games Medallist Stacey Denyer, and will help you to:

✅ Understand how female veterans’ experiences and risk factors may differ
✅ Navigate and use the Female Veterans Toolkit effectively
✅ Reflect on your organisation’s (or your own) practice
✅ Build awareness of the specific needs of female veterans

What a fantastic day at the very first Hull 4 Heroes AM-AM Charity Golf Day we had on Friday! 🌟

With 27 teams taking on the wind and challenges, the competition was fierce but everyone played brilliantly. Every penny raised goes straight back to supporting Hull 4 Heroes, thank you all for making it happen!

Following a final meeting with Martin’s family and the Canon of Hull Minster, we can now confirm the arrangements for the funeral of our friend, colleague, and fellow veteran, Martin Chadburn.

📍 Funeral Service
Monday 22nd June
11:30am – Hull Minster

This will be followed by a private service for family and close friends at:

📍 Large Chapel, Chanterlands Avenue Crematorium
1:30pm

📍 Wake / Celebration of Life
Trinity Club, Southcoates Lane

For those not attending the crematorium service, you are warmly invited to return directly to Trinity Club after the service at Hull Minster to join family and friends in celebrating Martin’s life and sharing memories together.

Please note that parking at Trinity Club is limited to street parking only, so please allow extra time if travelling by car.

For anyone unable to attend Hull Minster in person, the service will be streamed live on the Hull 4 Heroes page.

Our fellow veteran, Paddy, has kindly offered to open Nolans Bar, Silver Street, from 10:00am for anyone wishing to meet before the service. Tea, coffee, and other refreshments will be available.

Dress Code:
The family have requested smart casual attire or military dress.

Thank you to everyone who has offered their support to Martin’s family and ourselves during this difficult time. We look forward to coming together to pay our respects and celebrate the life of a much-loved friend who will be greatly missed. ❤️

🌸 A Fresh Start for an Armed Forces Couple 🌸

At the beginning of April, an Armed Forces couple we support were served a Section 21 no‑fault eviction notice — a frightening and uncertain moment for anyone, especially for those who have already given so much in service.

Over the past few weeks, our support team has worked tirelessly alongside Hull City Council’s Housing Team and their Armed Forces Covenant Officer to make sure this couple were not left facing homelessness.

Today, we’re delighted to share some good news:
They’ve signed the tenancy agreement for their new home — and tomorrow they begin their next chapter.

This outcome is a testament to what can be achieved when organisations communicate, collaborate, and put people first. To the teams involved: thank you for your compassion, your persistence, and your commitment to supporting our Armed Forces community.

And to the couple — we wish you comfort, stability, and happiness in your new home. 💛

Come along and celebrate the incredible contribution of our serving personnel, veterans, reservists, cadets and military families at this year's UK Armed Forces Day event in the heart of Hull.

Today we pause to honour the bravery, sacrifice, and unity of those who landed on the beaches of Normandy. British, Commonwealth, and Allied forces stood together in courage that changed the course of history.

Their legacy reminds us that freedom is never free — it’s earned through the courage of those who serve.

We Will Remember Them.

Another amazing family camp with our friends at Woodland Xperiences.

With funding from the Armed Forces Covenant Fund Trust as part of our Family Focus project, four families enjoyed a fantastic weekend in the lakes

These weekends provide time and space for families to relax and enjoy each others company away from the stress of everyday life

Thank you so much to Ady and the team who put so much effort into making these weekends so memorable, packed full of fun and allow lasting memories to be made
