What's classed as a package holiday? 🤔

Whether you planned on staying in the UK or going abroad, it’s probably a package holiday if you’ve booked 2 or more travel services from a travel organiser for the same holiday at the same time.

Rising energy bills remain a serious worry for many thousands of people across Hull and the East Riding, with regulator Ofgem announcing a 13.5% rise in the energy price cap from July 1 (an average of £221 a year on our bills).

We need to do everything we can to keep our bills down. That's where our team of specialist energy advisers comes in. They can help you to save money on your bills, make sure you’re not missing out on benefits you’re entitled to and find support for you if you’re in debt. They can even talk to your supplier on your behalf to help you solve any issues.

We're a local charity and our advice is free, impartial and independent.

Our specialist energy team will be on hand to meet you at three drop-in sessions this week, with no appointment needed:

📅 Goole: 80 Pasture Road, DN14 6HD – Tuesday, 11am-2pm
📅 Bridlington: 6 Manor Street, YO15 2RU – Wednesday, 11am-2pm
📅 Beverley: 33 Lairgate HU17 8JQ – Thursday, 11am-2pm

Our volunteers make an incredible contribution to our local charity, supporting people across Hull and the East Riding.

In the last year, nearly 5,000 clients supported by our volunteers gained an astonishing £2,434,977. That makes a big difference for so many people - the top issues volunteers helped with were benefits/Universal Credit, debt and housing.

From protecting Government VIPs to fixing buses and keeping things running smoothly and safely at British Steel, Peter Rowell has enjoyed a fascinating and varied career. Sometimes you find yourself, unexpectedly, in need of benefits.

Maybe you have to give up work due to a back injury and you're worried about how you're going to cope with the drop in income. But you don't know where to start.

In situations like this, lots of people miss out on benefits they’re entitled to, so it’s definitely worth checking what you can get.

Claiming benefits also means you can get access to other financial help like cost of living payments and discounts on energy and transport.
