We’re a charity with an infectious sense of fun and a serious, been-around-the-block knowledge of what it takes to build charities that can endure and succeed. With the generous help of our partners in the business community we’re able to highlight the challenges facing local charities and source the tools to fix them. Our approachability and proactive attitude, combined with our in-depth knowledge, make us the ‘go-to’ destination for charity advice and support in Hull and East Yorkshire.

We’re proud to welcome the Mariella Rose Foundation Fund to HEY Smile Foundation, launching during Dyslexia Awareness Week.

Created in memory of Mariella, who tragically died aged just 17, the Fund honours her kindness, enthusiasm and determination to make a difference for young people with dyslexia.

After receiving her own diagnosis at 14, Mariella described feeling “relieved”. She wanted other young people to understand their strengths, believe in themselves and have the support to pursue their ambitions.

Inspired by her belief that “impossible” can become “I’m possible”, the Fund will help reduce financial and social barriers through:

- Grants towards professional dyslexia assessments
- Mariella Meet-Ups to share experiences and build confidence
- Mentoring through education, training and employment
- The Mariella Rose Rising Star Award
- Advocacy to challenge stigma and improve understanding

We’re honoured to support Mariella’s parents, Chris and Christine, as they turn their daughter’s passion into a lasting legacy.

Your donation or a simple share can help bring Mariella’s vision to life, opening doors for more young people with dyslexia.
