JVENN Foundation

JVENN Foundation JVenn is a recently registered charity which will provide funds to support education in Hull. The Foundation has committed funds for its work beyond 2030.

The JVenn Foundation provides bursaries to disadvantaged students from Hull who are studying for a degree or other tertiary qualification at a university or college in the UK. It also sponsors literacy initiatives and other extra-curricular activities in Hull schools. Hull has many talented youngsters whose potential is not always realised - JVenn helps particularly those students who have faced d

ifficult challenges as they grow up. It will...

-Provide up to four bursaries of £5,000 p.a. each year for disadvantaged students currently resident in Hull going to university or other further education.

-Provide funding for extra-curricular projects in Hull secondary schools and colleges.

-Support initiatives related to reading and writing in Hull schools across all age groups. JVenn Foundation
The JVenn Foundation was formed in 2015 to provide bursaries to students resident in the Hull area (that is, with an HU postcode) who are going on to study for a degree or other tertiary qualification in the UK. The Foundation also funds a number of extra-curricular activities in Hull schools. Availability
Each year, up to four bursaries, each paying £5,000 each year, are provided whilst the students are studying for a first degree or other tertiary qualification at a British university or college. Applications for bursaries payable from September 2021 have now closed. The site will re-open for applications for bursaries becoming payable in September 2022 in March 2022. Eligibility
Applicants must be currently resident in Hull or have a Hull postal code address and have a family income (the combined income of your parents or other guardians) less than £25,000 each year. Applicants must begin studying for a first degree or an alternative tertiary qualification at a British university or college and be 22 or under when they start their course. Bursary Conditions
From time to time the trustees will seek confirmation from your university or college that you are continuing to study there. The trustees will try to accommodate the changing needs of the students. If students have to retake a year, switch courses or take a year’s break they must reapply for an extension to their bursary payments. This will not be granted automatically and in no circumstances will a second extension be granted. We request that bursary students participate in the JVenn community by writing blogs and by actively participating in our September awards evenings.
