⚠️Flood Alert in force for the Isle of Wight coast⚠️

A flood alert has been issued by the Environment Agency for the Isle of Wight coast

🌊 Unusually High tides over the next two days may lead to flooding in some coastal areas.

Flooding is possible for 1 hour either side of Friday evening’s tide and Saturday morning’s tide.

Friday (05/12/2025) late evening high tide is at 23:09 with a light South Westerly Force 3 wind.

Saturday (06/12/2025) morning’s high tide is at 11:29, South Westerly Force 4 wind.

Very minor impact flooding will affect some sea front roads, esplanades and car parks. Water will be high up slipways in Cowes, affecting Medina Road and floating bridge. In East Cowes, sea water forced up through drains may cause minor impacts to the road at Albany Road.

The sandbag stores at Cowes, East Cowes and Ryde have been opened.

A few of our team have been out this morning, there is still a lot of surface water and some flooding in areas such as roads across the island.

If your dog walking along the old railway track around the Newchurch area take extra care on the footpaths.

Remember:

❗ Be prepared for flooded roads; do not enter floodwater in your vehicle or on foot, seek alternate routes and never ignore road closure signs, they have been put there for your safety.

🏠 If your home becomes flooded, turn off your electricity, gas and water, move your valuables upstairs and your loved ones and pets to safety. In an emergency, call 999.
