It's not often we get soft toys at Repair Cafe, but today, at Ventnor Exchange, we had three!
Jumbo the elephant and Tessie Bear live together and were brought in by their human, who explained that Jumbo has been her lifelong companion. Being the same age as her, she wanted to ensure that Jumbo was in the best shape to see out their latter years together.
After her human had signed the consent forms, Tessie put herself up for surgery (repair) first, where she received a paw reconstruction.
Whilst she was convalescing afterwards, Rufus arrived with his humans! Both being bears who had had many adventures, they were keen to make their acquaintance with each other, and sat and chatted whilst Jumbo had some minor surgery. He is due to be booked in another month, for a little more intense repair...
When it was Rufus' turn he had no qualms at all about being passed to the surgeon, (Repairer Tracey), as he had already seen what an excellent job she had done with Jumbo and his new friend, Tessie.
He left with a stunning new snout, that he was keen to put to good use, after his humans had promised he could choose whatever he wanted at the grocery store, on the way home.
* All soft toys were anaesthetised with love and no pain was felt during their operations ❤️
