Keir Starmer has resigned.

Predictably, the debate has already begun about who should replace him.

But I wonder if we’re asking the wrong question.

For years politicians of all parties have spent a lot of time discussing:

“How shall we divide the pie?”

while spending less time asking:

“How do we bake a bigger and better pie?”

A pie made with good ingredients.

Skilled bakers.

A strong support team.

And a fair share for everyone.

What do you think?

She stood firm through two wars, refusing to abandon her home in Mansouri just a few meters from the beach and the sea turtles she watched over for a quarter century.

Environmental activist Mona Khalil, 76, founder of the Orange House Project and a prominent figure in marine turtle protection along the Sour coast, succumbed to her injuries Friday caused by an Israeli strike that directly hit her family home on June 4.

She regained consciousness the day after the attack before her condition gradually deteriorated. She had been hospitalized for two weeks at AUBMC in Beirut, after being transferred from Jabal Amel Hospital in the south, according to Fadia Joumaa, an environmental activist from Sour, contacted by L'Orient-Le Jour. "Doctors tried in vain to save her in recent days," she added.

Yesterday, PAN (Pesticide Action Network) launched a campaign calling on Sainsbury’s to step up and end the use of paraquat in its global supply chains.

Paraquat is responsible for poisoning thousands of farmworkers around the world. Repeated long-term exposure to paraquat has also been linked to chronic health conditions, most notably Parkinson’s disease. In addition to these human health impacts, paraquat is harmful to the environment posing serious risks to both aquatic and terrestrial ecosystems.

What can you do?

We would love your support on social media. Sainsbury’s will be more motivated to act if they hear from their customers:

Over 70 countries, including the UK, have banned paraquat and yet Sainsbury’s continues to allow it to be used in its global supply chains.

🌍 The world has enough for everyone’s need, but not everyone’s greed.

— Mahatma Gandhi

This simple sentence contains a challenge that feels more relevant today than ever.

We live in a world capable of producing enough food, resources, knowledge and technology to meet the basic needs of every person on Earth. Yet many people still struggle while enormous amounts of wealth, food and materials are wasted.

Connected with Earth isn’t about telling people what to think.

It’s about encouraging us to ask questions:

🌱 How much is enough?

🌱 Are we consuming because we need something, or because we’ve been encouraged to want it?

🌱 What kind of world are our everyday choices helping to create?

🌱 Could a simpler, more balanced way of living benefit both people and the planet?

Nature shows us that healthy ecosystems thrive through balance, cooperation and renewal.

Perhaps there is wisdom in that.

What are your thoughts on Gandhi’s quote? Do you think the challenge facing humanity is a shortage of resources, or a shortage of wisdom in how we use them?

I honestly think poppies are one of nature’s little miracles.

Before they bloom, they sit inside these soft, fuzzy green shells like tiny hidden secrets. Then one day the casing splits open and the petals emerge looking like crumpled silk.

No factories.
No instructions.
No noise.

Just nature quietly knowing what to do.

Ladies, if you’re exercising more… eating better… and still not losing weight…

read this carefully.

I’ve been there — and it turns out the problem wasn’t effort…
it was understanding how the body actually works.

This completely changed how I look at health.

Curious if this resonates with anyone else?

🌿 CASTOR OIL — Simple. Natural. Effective.

This is one of those old-fashioned remedies that’s quietly stood the test of time… not because it’s trendy, but because it actually works (when used properly).

✨ Why people still use it today:
• Deeply moisturises dry skin
• Helps condition hair & soothe the scalp
• Supports brows & lashes
• Can be used occasionally for constipation
• Traditionally used in relaxing castor oil packs

But here’s the honest bit 👇
It’s not a miracle cure… and more is definitely not better.

💡 A few simple tips:
✔️ Use a tiny amount (it’s thick and powerful)
✔️ Mix with a lighter oil for best results
✔️ Great for dry skin, heels, and weekly hair treatments
✔️ Always use internal remedies with care

⚠️ And please don’t fall for the hype:
Castor oil supports your body — it doesn’t magically transform it overnight.

🌱 The bottom line:
Sometimes the simplest, most natural things are the most effective… when we use them wisely.

I’ve turned this into a clear, practical A4 poster as part of my
“Natural Remedies That Actually Work” series.

Did You Know? Active bird nests are legally protected.
In spring, trees, hedges and bushes may be full of hidden nests, shelter and young wildlife. Many people do not realise that active bird nests are legally protected and that cutting during nesting season can cause real harm. This is not about making a fuss — it is about spreading awareness, looking out for wildlife, and encouraging people to check before they cut.

Just One Little Brazil Nut

It does not look like much, does it?

Just one little Brazil nut. Small, plain, easy to overlook. But tucked inside that modest nut is selenium — a mineral your body needs to help support your thyroid, immune system, and protect your cells from everyday wear and tear.

That is what makes the Brazil nut so interesting. You do not need a big handful. You do not need anything fancy. Just one brazil nut a day can be enough to give your body a useful little boost.

It is a lovely reminder that health is not always about grand gestures. Sometimes it is the tiny things — done gently and consistently — that quietly help keep us well.

So next time you see a Brazil nut, do not dismiss it.

It may be small, but it is pulling well above its weight.
