We're currently in need of men's coats in sizes Medium and Large for people we support at Huddersfield Mission.

If you have any coats that are:
✅ Clean
✅ In good condition
✅ Warm
✅ Waterproof

We would be very grateful for your donation.

As the weather can be unpredictable and many people struggle to afford suitable clothing, a warm coat can make a real difference.

Donations can be dropped off at Huddersfield Mission during our opening hours, Mon to Fri 9am - 4.30pm.

Do You Need Help Accessing Online Services?

Many services are now online, from booking a GP appointment and ordering prescriptions to checking your Council Tax information. While accessing services online can save time, it can also be challenging for many people.

With the right support, online systems can become much easier to use. At Huddersfield Mission, our Advice and Support Team and Community Health Worker can help you overcome these barriers and build your confidence online.

Whether you need help filling in online forms, using websites, creating an account, or finding information online, we can help.

When a parent first walked through our doors after fleeing domestic violence, they felt completely overwhelmed and unable to see a way forward. The thought of finding a safe, permanent home for themselves and their child felt entirely out of reach.

But sitting down for that very first chat changed everything. For the first time in a long time, they felt heard, supported, and given a genuine glimmer of hope. Over the last month, through regular visits and gentle guidance from our benefits and Kirklees Council housing team, that hope has blossomed into a real, steady plan. Today, their stable future is taking shape, and most importantly, they are safely reunited with their child and looking forward to a fresh start together.

As a wonderful thank you, they brought in a beautiful picture they had drawn for us, wanting to give a little piece of that hope back to the team who supported them through such a dark time. Moments like this absolutely melt our hearts. To see someone move from fear to finding their smile, and to be gifted a piece of their creativity, is the greatest reward we could ask for.

We are so incredibly proud of this family, and we wish them all the love and happiness in the world as they begin their new chapter.

Welcome to the team, Kieran and Hamzah!

We are pleased to welcome Kieran and Hamzah, who are joining our existing Premises Team at Huddersfield Mission.

They will help keep the Mission clean, safe, and welcoming by cleaning, setting up rooms for groups and hirers, carrying out basic repairs, and making sure everything is ready for the people who use our building.

Their work will help create a safe, clean, and comfortable environment for our customers, staff, volunteers, and visitors.

A Little Poem for All Our Volunteers Who Help Make Huddersfield Mission What It Is!

At Huddersfield Mission, they're quite a sight,
Helping each weekday, putting things right.

Some serve tea and coffee with kindness and care,
Creating a friendly atmosphere for all who are there.

Some give advice when life gets tough,
Helping people navigate all the complicated stuff.

Some lead activities, bringing people together,
Creating friendships and memories that last forever.

Some sort donations, shelves piled high,
Finding what people need and knowing just why.

Our Trustees guide us, ask questions, and plan,
Making sure we do the best that we can.

The truth is simple, clear and true,
So much of what we do depends on you.

So here's a huge thank you for all that you do,
For your time, your kindness, and your sense of humour too!
