The Welcome Centre offers practical support to individuals and families in crisis, including food, toiletries, bedding, and household items. The people we help face job loss, debt and eviction, homelessness, fleeing violence, drug or alcohol problems or are struggling with mental or physical health issues, younger people and asylum seekers and other problems. We also provide an advice, guidance and support service which offers 1-2-1 tailored support to help address underlying issues. 📢 WE’RE HIRING! | Operations Assistant

Want to make a real difference in your local community?

We’re looking for a motivated, resourceful and people-focused Operations Assistant to join our team and help support the running of our food bank! 🥫🤝

Working from our warehouse, you’ll work closely with both our Operations and Advice teams to help us continue supporting people in our community.

📍 Location: Queens Mill Industrial Estate, Huddersfield (HD1 3RR)
🕒 Hours: Full-time, 37.5 hours per week
📅 Working days: Monday–Friday
⏰ Core hours: 8am–4pm (specific hours to be agreed)
📄 Contract: Permanent

If you’re passionate about making a difference, have strong interpersonal skills and are ready to be part of a team supporting our community, we’d love to hear from you!

🥣✨ A huge thank you to Hillside Primary School! ✨🥣

We’re so grateful to all the children, parents and teachers who took part in their fantastic Cereal Box Challenge! 💜

As part of their Harvest Festival collections, the school community donated boxes of cereal to support people in need. But that wasn’t all… they also created an incredible domino challenge, sending the cereal boxes tumbling from one side of the school to the other!

This brilliant idea represented the domino effect of kindness — how one small act of generosity can set something much bigger in motion.

Every donation can help someone access the support they need to take their next steps forward. And it all starts with one simple act of kindness. 💜

A huge thank you to Huddersfield Mens Voices! 🎶

We’re incredibly grateful to the choir for raising £417.30 for The Welcome Centre at a recent concert. What a wonderful contribution to supporting people in our local community!

We were honoured to join them this evening, enjoy their beautiful singing, and share an update on our work and the vital support we provide to people facing hardship.

The generosity and support of our local community make such a difference to the work we do. We simply couldn’t do it without wonderful groups like Huddersfield Men’s Voices!
